Job Description:

TechFlow, Inc. is hiring an Agile Coach to provide adaptive coaching and the ability to work hands-on with teams in an IT advisory role, guiding teams toward improving work and facilitating sprint planning. The Agile Coach aids in implementing agile techniques and the execution of Scrum, demonstrating a strong ability for identifying IT waste and helping teams devise streamlined solutions. They are proficient with drawing storyboards and developing IT acceptance criteria. The Agile Coach will be responsible for facilitating meetings and reviews, assisting project/program managers, and departments for continuous improvement, ensuring that agile development practices are followed and adjusted as required. They help facilitate important recurring processes such as work replenishment, risk reviews, service delivery, operations, and strategic planning. Ultimately, the Agile Coach helps ensure that key metrics such as lead time and work-in-progress are maintained and reviewed on a regular basis to facilitate decision-making.


  • Provide coaching and facilitation that support the adoption of Agile and DevOps within teams, across all levels of the organization, with a focus on delivering value
  • Work at any level of the organization, ranging from individual development teams, to programs, portfolios, divisions, and executive leadership
  • Assist the agency to establish the appropriate processes for managing a portfolio of work in an agile way to drive strategic change across the organization
  • Provide continuous improvement of Agile processes, coaching and mentoring of individual scrum teams, and facilitate coordination between teams as well as the sharing of process improvements across the entire program

    • Certifications in a development methodology that aligns with the proposed Agile approach (e.g. Project Management Institute-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), PMI Agile Certification, Scrum Master, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Practitioner, etc.)
    • 6+ years of Agile experience including:
      • Experience performing or managing Agile software development within the Government environment
      • Expertise in implementing all DM&E activities, including helping the team adopt and maintain best practices for Agile development
      • Extensive experience in managing Agile program metrics and SLAs and Agile program management tools including Atlassian Jira and Confluence
      • Experience in managing multiple and parallel Agile Release Trains and associated dependencies and risks
      • 3+ years of Agile coaching experience including:
        • Experience leading application development teams on projects of similar scope and size
        • 8 years of people management experience including:
          • Extensive experience consulting with stakeholders about the desired functionality of applications and ensuring systems meet enterprise's technical and business objectives
