ABOUT MERIDIAN PCS Meridian is a PreK-8th grade school with an
elementary campus located in Washington DC's vibrant U Street
Corridor and a middle school campus a few blocks up the road in

Meridian visit mpcs-dc.org . ABOUT THE POSITION The Facilities
Support Associate will provide assistance to the Manager of
Auxiliary Services as it relates to the day to day functions for
maintaining facilities. Duties include but are not limited to:
Facilities Repairs & Maintenance
- Performs daily checks and inspects the building and grounds for
cleanliness, state of repair, work accomplishments, theft, and
vandalism, and reports on findings to the supervisor
- Performs daily maintenance cleaning and removing trash from
facilities
- Performs assignments that may consist of general maintenance
tasks, such as plumbing, electrical, painting, and/or
carpentry
- Responds promptly to on-call repair and maintenance tasks
throughout the school day as needed, such scrubbing vandalism off
school walls or repairing a leaky water fountain
- Assists with maintaining exterior school grounds, particularly
during inclement weather, to ensure access to school building and
facilities
- Assists with carrying, lifting, and/or delivering supplies,
tools, equipment, and other heavy objects as needed
- Assists with the set-up of school spaces for daily school
activities and special events, including moving furniture between
buildings/offices/classrooms
- Assists with summer facilities projects such as painting,
moving work, assembly of school equipment, laying mulch, etc.
- Oversees all facility related deliveries, ensuring they are
received, signed for, and stored accordingly and safely
- Maintains consistent attendance at work and reports to work on
time every day
- Other duties as required. Part-time Facilities Support
Associate
- 10 month Part-time Non-Exempt Employee
- 20 hours weekly starting at an hourly rate of $16.10
- Daily work hours Monday-Friday from 3pm-7pm, with the
flexibility to work extended hours to cover
- This position requires occasional evening and/or weekend
commitments outside of regular school hours
- Staff can be required to work up to two Saturdays throughout
the school year to support school-wide events Full-time Facilities
Support Associate
- 12 month Part-time Non-Exempt Employee
- 40 hours weekly starting at an hourly rate of $16.10
- Daily work hours Monday-Friday from 2pm-10pm
- This position requires occasional evening and/or weekend
commitments outside of regular school hours.
- Staff can be required to work up to two Saturdays throughout
the school year to support school-wide events Physical Demands of

- Ability occasionally to lift and or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels,
and to hear and understand speech on the telephone
- Ability to speak clearly in audible tones so that others may
understand
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus and peripheral
vision QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated ability and passion to work with students and
families from diverse backgrounds
- Be at least 18 years of age, hold a high school diploma or
equivalent; and meet the following:
- Prior experience in school facilities and maintenance repair,
dealing with the public, or any combination of training and
experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and
abilities
- Demonstrate dependability and cleanliness
- Maintenance training (preferred, but not required)
- Criminal background clearance including fingerprinting,
