DescriptionYour OpportunityNew Relic is looking for a creative
and enterprising Sr. Back-End Software Engineer to build a brand
new, greenfield, never-before-seen product. The product will be
focused on helping teams contextualize deployments, systems events,
CI/CD events, and operational changes with their application
telemetry and performance data. - You'll also help us build fresh
experiences that allow developers and SREs to leverage these data
to resolve issues faster. Additionally, your work will help inform
how New Relic builds strategic partnerships with leading technology
vendors worldwide.This position offers an opportunity to be a
founding member of a team that's starting from scratch to make
something completely novel and unrivaled. That means fast growth
and ample opportunities to develop new skills. You will also have
an opportunity to make an immediate and significant impact on the
New Relic One user experience and the success of our strategic
initiatives.You will work closely with product managers, designers,
and developers to define and execute on the product roadmap. Your
insight, technical expertise, and creativity will help us translate
outcomes into deliverables and evolve our vision for this product.
Your leadership skills will help cement the product team as a key
player within the larger New Relic ecosystem. What You'll DoBecome
a founding member of a team tasked with making a new, innovative
product, and help foster a creative, collaborative team
culture.Write code (of course!)Collaborate with fellow engineers
and cross functional product teams to build end-to-end solutions
for our customers.Own the entire software development
lifecycle-from technical strategy definition to delivery, to end of
life.Help translate the product strategy (which is informed by
customer and market insights, competitive analysis, our technical
capabilities, and internal programs/assets) into actionable
developer assignments.Communicate insights and technical concepts
to non-technical stakeholders to enable faster strategy
iteration.Work in an agile environment with a DevOps approach-teams
build and maintain their own software, including taking turns with
being on-call.Opportunity to work from a remote office may be
available depending on the applicant's location.Your
QualificationsMust-have:5+ years of software engineering experience
using modern object-oriented programming languages such as Java,
C#, or C++Experience with relational data stores (such as
PostgreSQL)Experience building and operating scalable,
fault-tolerant, maintainable distributed systemsExperience defining
and building robust APIsAttention to detail and quality of
implementationNice-to-have:Experience working on a software product
teamExperience with test automation toolsIn-depth Java development
experience (e.g. knowledge of how the GC works, multi-threading,
etc.)Experience with distributed streaming/messaging systems such
as Kafka or SQSExperience developing GraphQL APIsExperience with
Terraform or other infrastructure as code toolingExperience with
cloud-based deployments and architecture (especially AWS)Experience
with AWS EKS, and/or KubernetesKnowledge of full-stack software
