Position Description

PAR is seeking an Agile Coach to join our software engineering organization. Our products are used by the largest names in the hospitality industry and our Brink Point of Sale product is the only restaurant SaaS POS product with multiple 1000+ location operators. Our API's serve billions of requests per month and power many Quick Serve Restaurants digital footprint.

Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, and in partnership with leaders in Product Management, you will have broad responsibility and ownership our agile process. Partnering with a team of Scrum Masters, you will be expected to cultivate an environment where transparency, speed and quality are at the forefront while continuously iterating and improving our agile process.

The ideal candidate has previously led organizations in their adoption of agile practices. They will provide success patterns, best practices, process tailoring, training, and leadership coaching to enable effective agile execution. You will have had hands on experience supporting development activities, release management, and project planning activities. You will have proven yourself to directly influence leaders and technology teams on Agile principles and values.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of 7-10 years overall experience in progressive Agile Roles
    • 3-5 years' experience in Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile Lean Role in an enterprise environment.
    • 3-5 years in Agile Coach position applying Agile practices and principles including SAFe, Scrum and/or Kanban including demonstrated ability to inspect and adapt Agile practices to various situations.
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Agile Practice
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills
    • Strong facilitator skills
    • Hands on experience working agile teams and coaching on agile best practices
    • Ability to coach AND provide transformation guidance
    • Excellent collaboration and team building skills
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Possesses a high degree of initiative
    • Demonstrated problem solving skills
    • Experience in Scrum Master role.

      Why We Need You

      • Guide the continuation of the current Agile transformation across the Brink R&D scrum teams.
      • Evaluating current state of Agile, Release planning processes, and the overall velocity and effectiveness of scrum teams, and drive a series of incremental changes that in turn will drive continuous improvement and maturity of our Agile practices. We're looking for that Agile Coach that can meet us where our teams are today and drive us forward.
      • Coach Engineering, Product, and other stakeholders at the executive level in how we can better adopt Agile principles to in turn improve the overall efficiency of our R&D scrum teams. This is a coaching role. To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication skills, and more importantly, incredible listening skills. We are looking for the coach that can get us invested in change, in understanding how this change will help us become more efficient. We are not looking for pre-canned Agile solutions, we are looking to define what Agile means for PAR! Once we understand our Agile needs and course, we can partner to define the Agile path that works best for our R&D Organization.
      • Guide cadence and synchronization at the Team Level to improve effectiveness of progress towards the iteration goals in daily stand-up meetings and the ability to demonstrate working systems at the end of the iteration. Define and measure meaningful agile metrics to provide insights in these three dimensions including Team Health and Maturity, Delivery and Performance, and Business Outcomes.
      • Help manage risks and dependencies across the organization and the broader enterprise to enable better flow of value. Continuously seeks opportunities to improve operational processes to improve consistency of delivery, improve customer satisfaction and reduce costs. Effectively assesses opportunities, gains support for improvements and follows through with implementation. Provides leadership oversight and governance on all line of business Agile transformation efforts.
      • Facilitates organizational learning, change management, and process adoption of Agile via metrics, benefits realization, outcomes, and retrospective findings.
      • Provide Agile Leadership, coaching, career mentorship, and training to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, functional managers, and executives.
      • Drive Agile Community of Practice discussions and promote growth opportunities for our Scrum Masters.
      • Partner with Scrum Masters to drive quarterly Agile Health Assessments
      • Deliver coaching of individual teams in all aspects of scrum and Kanban including planning, self-organization, collaboration, iterative development, managing flow, limiting wip, etc.
      • Serves as subject matter expert and provides coaching to teams and leadership towards improving Agile process and metrics, evaluate and mentor existing Scrum teams, and deliver training courses for product owners, developers, and testers.
