Job Description:

We are looking for a self-motivated Lead Developer with solid Ruby on Rails development skills, strong people skills, and a support mindset. You will provide leadership to a team that delivers branded communities for our healthcare clients and supports our internal application support needs, while contributing to the product code base.Requirements* At least eight (8) years Ruby on Rails experience* At least three (3) years managing a development team* At least two (2) years as an Architect or similar role* Front-end development experience (HTML/Sass)* MySQL expertise* Full-stack experience* Strong verbal and written communication* Organized, patient, and thorough* Empathy* Support team members with code reviews and collaboration* Meet with Software Engineers that report to you on a regular basis* Establish and work toward objectives with each direct report* Help employees identify skill gaps and connect them to humans or online training for assistance* Work closely with Sensei to develop new Software Engineer onboarding curriculum* Develop connections with managers in other departments to help standardize processes and documentation* Assist SVP of Engineering with hiring in all roles on the team* Provide guidance/input toward team members' development projects* Contribute to the code base through projects, tickets, and architecture guidance* Assist SVP of Engineering with establishing metrics* Identify areas of improvement in processes and documentation and oversee those tasks to completionBenefits* Position is 100% remote, with option to join us back in the Lakewood, Ohio, office post-COVID (but not required)* Flexible work schedule to maintain a work/life balance beyond compare* Laptop provided
