company has long term, contract for hire opening for a Senior
System Admin. This position is located in in Vienna, VA. Job
Description The Senior Systems Administrator (SA) will provide
engineering Tier 23 technical infrastructure engineering support
for Windows 10, and general system administration support the
installation, administration, enhancement, monitoring, and support
of a variety of Windows-based systems and related infrastructure
and reviewing needed security patches for various systems and
performing research necessary to execute patch management plans.
The SA will support and maintain BigFix software packages use
PowerShell, or manual methods as necessary to manage software
packages to remote workstation assist the Security team with
maintaining a security vulnerability assessment for third party
applications manage application and software updates, including
packaging standard applications provide Tier III IT Deskside
support to deskside representatives to resolve technically complex
problems work with System Engineers and Security Engineering team
to resolve issues using problem management or root cause analysis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSRESPONSIBILITIES Provide on-site services and
remote support for enterprise systems, including configuration
management, system maintenance, device and system repair, detail
process documentation, and systems administration for all IT assets
including software and hardware assets such as servers, network
devices, and peripheral equipment located at agency headquarters or
satellite offices. Perform daily monitoring (Tenable) to address
vulnerabilities in the Enterprise and apply patches as required.
Support all identity management services, including Active
Directory forests, domain trusts, domain schemas, group policies,
PIV Card Integration and associated identity management
technologies. Provide support for VPN remote access. Research and
provide solutions for all Windows ServerWorkstation problems, to
include mitigating vulnerabilities found by security and virus
scans. Develop software installation scripts and provide code
review for complex software installations. Ensure all baseline
applications are automatically deployed across the enterprise.
Engage with engineering team and other teams across the enterprise
to ensure that software packages meet the requirement of the
organization and are distributed in a consistent manner.
Responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining workstation health
for entire IBM BigFix infrastructure. Coordinates and assist in the
implementation of new technologies. Perform the
Life-Cycle-Maintenance (LCM) actions required to execute the
technical refreshment of hardwaresoftware platforms supporting the
agencyrsquos IT applications to include, but not limited to,
building servers, upgrading OS, etc. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE,
CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in related field and 3+ years'
experience or 7 years of related experience. Experience with end
point management tools like IBM's Big Fix, Or Microsoft SCCM.
Extensive experience with deploying, configuring and
troubleshooting Microsoft OS (Windows 10), Active Directory, and
Microsoft Office 365. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Experience with scripting and packaging software. Experience
creating, testing, deploying and managing computer images
(Microsoft MDT) Experience using a ticketing system such as Service
Now. Experience of security policies and basic vulnerabilities
management. Familiarity with tools such as Tenable and McAfee.
Proven experience supporting the integration and implementation of
new applications into an enterprise environment. Proven experience
providing Tier 23 engineering support for Windows Servers in an
enterprise environment. Demonstrated ability to think critically
and creatively to develop innovative solutions to information
technology problems. Strong analytical skills with the ability to
analyze data sets to determine trends, establish strategies, and
make decisions. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
with the ability to effectively communicate across diverse
audiences and influence cross functionally.SDL2017
