Job Description:

The Human Resource (HR) Intern provides administrative and operational support to the human resources and talent acquisition functions at the headquarters location. Responsibilities will include data/trend analysis, benchmarking, development of communication initiatives, conducting research on emerging HR issues/trends, project management, problem analysis, and solution implementation related to HR initiatives. Assists with processing of new hire documentation and prepares new employee files. Assists with new employee orientations. Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files. Maintains confidential personnel files and performs HRIS data entry. Assists with processing of termination paperwork and scheduling of offboarding meetings. Assists with HR special projects and researches emerging trends in HR. Assists with HR-driven employee events. Assists in the administration of health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions. Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies/procedures and responds to employee requests or questions. Assists in gathering data for monthly HR metric analysis in Excel and PowerPoint. Creates content for HR SharePoint portal. Submits online background check requests for new employees and responds Verification of Employment (VOE) inquiries from external business or government entities. Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions. Assists or prepares correspondence as requested. Processes incoming and outgoing mail for the department as requested. Prepares job postings. Ensures candidates complete necessary employment documents. Coordinates interviews and solicits post interview feedback. Checks references and prepares offer letters. Ensures candidates are dispositioned appropriately in applicant tracking system. Requirements Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Pursuing Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, business or related field. Previous HR internship experience is beneficial. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
