work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times
in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects
have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large
populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact
to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a
Business Operations Intern to join the 2026 Fall Internship class.
The Global Business Operations Team works to support IJM’s Global
Operations Council in its mission to empower and support the
organization by driving optimal operational solutions that will
scale IJM’s impact of protecting people in poverty from violence.
The team supports the collaboration, alignment, improvement, and
integration of all Global Business Operations Functions - Finance,
HR, Legal, and Technology. The Business Operations Intern will
support project and portfolio management, change management, and
business process improvement. This includes assisting with projects
and tasks, such as supporting the preparation and completion of
deliverables; scheduling; supporting research on industry best
practices; and designing and editing communication materials. This
position can be fully in-person or hybrid (onsite Tuesdays &
Thursdays) in the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local
candidates. It reports to the Global Director, Business Operations.
The position requires 30-40 hours per week, primarily during the
hours of 8:30am-5:30pm EST. As volunteers, interns and fellows
receive a monthly stipend to help defray their expenses related to
participating in the internship program. This volunteer stipend is
not an hourly wage, nor wages paid for services provided by the
intern or fellow. Fall internship program dates are September 14 –
December 11, 2026. Application Deadline : April 24, 2026. General
Qualifications and Required Skills Bachelor's degree must be in
progress for DC/Remote Internships and applicants need to have
completed at least two years of undergraduate study. Experience in
project management or process implementation. Experience with
change management and training facilitation preferred. Excellent
written and verbal communication skills. Critical Qualities Mature
