The Human Resources (HR) and Administration department of AILA is
committed to attracting, motivating, and retaining the best and the
brightest employees in support of its professional members and
programs. We are strategic partners, change champions, employee
advocates, and administrative experts. As part of our total rewards
program and philosophy, the HR department works throughout the year
to ensure all benefits programs support the mission and culture of
the organization. The department also is responsible for managing
administrative support functions for the organization. Your RoleThe
HR Coordinator assists the Associate Director of Human Resources
and Administration in administering the activities of the
department. Human resource functions for the association include
recruitment and staffing, compensation and benefits administration,
training, employee relations, and professional development. Ensure
that services are consistent with overall human resources
objectives, policies and procedures, and best practices. Given the
changing needs of the association, the Human Resources Specialist
must be able to effect change, build consensus, and
introduce/recommend/implement programs for improvement. This
position has access to confidential information and therefore is
expected to function in a professional and confidential manner.
Essential Job Functions include: Compensation (includes payroll
administration)-- Enter and maintain employee database for both
payroll and timesheet programs, manage Time-Off program, and ensure
accurate payroll processing of bi-weekly payroll. -- Assist in the
execution of the annual performance review program and process
salary changes. -- Participate in industry-wide salary surveys and
ensure a competitive compensation program. -- Work with the Finance
department on any payroll reconciliation, audit, or other related
issues. Benefits Administration-- Enroll new hires and ensure
enrollment accuracy for current employees. -- Reconcile monthly
bills, process coverage changes, and terminations, and manage COBRA
participation. -- Research and recommend new benefits, coordinate
annual open enrollment processes, and assist with claims
processing. Recruitment-- Keep job descriptions current, research
advertising venues, create job postings, and
receive/screen/distribute resumes.-- Conduct screening interviews,
schedule interviews, and greet applicants.-- Conduct background
checks, check professional references, and manage the offer
process.-- Conduct new hire orientations and training in company
policies and procedures. Employee Relations-- Research and
recommend policy changes/updates in accordance with current
federal, state, and local regulations. -- Stay informed of pending
legislation and its impact on company policies. -- Maintain updated
Employee Handbook and related policies. -- Maintain confidential
employee files in compliance with applicable regulations. Your

Background and ExperienceAn undergraduate degree from an accredited
college or university, preferably in Human Resource Management or
equivalent HR working experience can be substituted for a college
degree. 2-5 years of years progressive human resources experience
especially working with time and attendance, payroll, and HRIS
systems. Association, not-for-profit, or law firm experience is a
