Job Description:
What the Payroll/AP Specialist will do:
- Process payroll: enter corrections and adjustments to
timekeeping data: enter paid time off requests. Verify accuracy of
payroll output; distribute paystubs to managers; prepare and
distribute reports.
- Provide payroll information as needed for federal and state
compliance reporting and internal administrative requests.
- Input invoices and process Accounts Payable weekly.
- Maintain AP vendor files
- Review check requests & vouchers
- End of year inventory count and valuation, and interim counts
if needed.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules;
provide monthly detail to the Auditor for General Journal entries;
insure proper recording of new purchases and disposals.
- Prepare Audit and Cost report schedules. What the company needs

Experience of the Payroll/AP Specialist:
- Associates Degree; or two+ years related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in payroll processing for
entities with 200 or more employees Required Qualifications of the
Payroll/AP Specialist
- Planning, organizing, prioritizing accounting tasks to meet
deadlines with a certain degree of creativity and latitude
required.
- Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.
- Very good verbal and communication skills.
- Have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the
hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important
deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
