Job Description:
Mission of WEConnect International : An Internship with
WEConnect International provides an opportunity for someone who is
interested in learning more about the Human Resources function
wtihin a global nonprofit. During the internship, you will learn
about all aspects of Human Resources program facilitation in all
areas including Staffing, Employee Relations and Engagement,
Employee Development and Training, Performance Management, Data and
Analytics, HR Compliance and Legal. You will get hands on
experience in standardizing processes, analyzing HR data,
supporting Training and Development efforts, and the Talent
Acquisition process. The work you do will directly impact a team of
dedicated professionals, supporting their work and life, while they
focus on developing sustainable efforts in the growing field of
women's economic empowerment, and supplier diversity and inclusion.
Our work helps women-owned businesses of different sizes and
capacities in regions such as Latin America and the Caribbean,
Southeast Asia and Oceania, and Africa and the Middle East in
leveraging procurement opportunities from large corporations and
multilateral agencies who are our Member Buyers. This includes
organizations such as Walmart, P&G, TD Bank, Sodexo, Johnson &
Johnson, Facebook, Microsoft and many more.
What You Can Do/Intern Duties:
Talent Acquisition process
The HR Operations Intern will support WEConnect International's
recruiting efforts by supporting the HR Manager with identifying
appropriate job sites to promote opportunities and attract
qualified candidates. The HR Intern will also help support the
development of an Employer Brand and presence on job posting sites,
social media outlets, and other resources to help attract key
talent. Specific tasks include identifying opportunities to promote
and leverage WEConnect as an employer of choice through employer
branding campaigns, job description development, candidate
correspondence, and scheduling of interviews. The Intern will also
work with the HR Manger in the enhancement of the current Applicant
Tracking system which will help streamline and automate the
recruiting process.
Training and Development
In partnership with the HR Manager, help to develop presentations
and materials for HR related Training Initiatives, including a
Cultural Workshop, Applicant Tracking system training for end
users, Bi-Annual Performance Management training and Goal Setting,
and supporting the monthly Wellness Webinars.
HR Compliance
Work with the HR Manager to ensure timely delivery and compliance
with general HR practices and questions that may arise.
Performance Standards
Intern will work directly with the HR Manager supporting all
ongoing efforts related to Human Resources Operations. Intern will
be available to work between 15 to 20 hours a week, or as thier
schedule permits in the geography where s/he is based on scheduled
days of work; and will provide a weekly review to supervisor of
task status. The productivity measurements for the internship
include:
Primary learning goal is to experience and contribute to the
operations of a global NGO and to understand the daily work of
international development professionals focused on economic and
sustainable development, and how Human Resources serves to support
employees in their daily work. The internship is based in the Human
Resources function but will be able to work with people based on
the member development function, communications function,
fundraising/business development function and administration
function of the organization. Secondary learning goal is to gain
greater knowledge about the challenge of women's economic
empowerment, and WEConnect International's method to achieve it
through increasing market access for women-owned businesses to
local and global supply chains through facilitating certification,
connections, and capacity development.
