Job Description This is NOT a full-time remote position. It will be in the Washington, DC office 2 days per week. Our client is seeking an energetic HR Coordinator to serve as the main HR contact. The HR Coordinator will report to the Director of Operations, while working closely with the President and the organization---s external expert Human Resources partner. The position is full-time , with preference for 2 days per week to be in person at our Washington, DC office. Our client is an established nonprofit research organization based in Washington, DC with 65 full time staff. Through their brand, the client provides information directly to consumers to help them find services and make important decisions about their healthcare. Our client also conducts surveys of consumers and health care providers on behalf of government agencies, national health plans, health coalitions, and medical groups. Responsibilities : Maintenance of employee records: includes but is not limited to background checks and e-verify, hiring records, performance reviews, raises, employment verifications, and other information as necessary. Provide ongoing, timely communication with payroll and ensure employee data is entered appropriately. Benefits administration: Health insurance, retirement contributions, metro, FSA/HSA contributions. Support with any leave administration and provide guidance to employees and their managers on the types of leave programs available to employees. Employee relations: Provide advice and guidance to employees on day-to-day matters to include but not limited to policies, benefits, and handbook. Provide oversight for employee engagement activities and events. Participate in teams planning culture-building activities. Compliance reporting: Responsible for filing federal and state mandated compliance reports, and additional reports as requested by funders. Ensure company policies and programs are fairly and consistently practiced and administered. Talent Acquisition: Assist hiring managers with maintaining compliance with hiring policies. as well as assisting with finding and screening candidates and drafting offer letters as needed. Onboarding: Ensure effective implementation of the process and ensure smooth onboarding for new employees. Office administration: Order supplies, assist in maintaining corporate records including state registrations and filings, maintain corporate liability insurance records, including the annual renewal updates, review contract agreements as necessary to ensure they reflect our actual insurance coverage. Business administration: Assist with renewals and tracking of the company's business insurance, complete state registrations, and assist with contractor management. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications : 2-3 years of HR experience. Bachelor---s degree in human resources, business administration, or related discipline preferred. Non-Profit experience is a plus, but not required. Proficient using Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook. Proficiency with Paychex. Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to be proactive and responsive. Ability to work independently. Demonstrate analytical, time-management, and prioritization skills. Must be detail oriented and able to manage multiple ongoing tasks (---task switching---). Ability to work in teams and across multiple departments. Demonstrates professionalism and good judgment.
