Job Description:

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Direct, supervise and maximize the efforts of the Housekeeping Department in order to ensure compliance with all standards of customer satisfaction, cleanliness, safety, productivity and efficiency set by the Salamander Collection.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


-Ensure all areas of the property are clean according to Hotel standards. This must include, but not limited to, guest rooms, public spaces, outdoor areas, offices, etc.
-Manage a continuous and progressive general clean program for all guest units and areas of the property.
-Ensure all Laundry Operations, in-house or outside contracts are performed according to the Hotel standards.
-Maintain a comprehensive program to generate work orders for the Engineering & Accounting Departments.
-Inspect guest rooms to ensure all standards of cleanliness and maintenance are satisfactory on a regular basis.
-Ensure department employees wear proper designated uniforms at all times, while adhering to the resorts grooming standards.
-Promote aggressive hospitality service among all members of the department.
-Perform administrative duties for the department including, but not limited to, scheduling, purchasing of supplies, linen inventory and productivity spreadsheet.
-Monitor guest service ratings and direct efforts to maintain proper standards.
-Responsible for all MSDS records and labeling, sharp containers and other OSHA requirements within department.
-Interview and hire staff.
-Maintain effective communication and interaction with all departments of the property.
-Utilization of outside vendors including contract labor.
-Other duties may be assigned as business demands.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE


-Must be 18 years of age or older.
-Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIREMENTS


-The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
-While performing the duties this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk' use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk and hear.
-The employee must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
-The employee must be able to see differences in widths and length of lines such as those on graphs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT


-Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate with others, effectively deal with customers and accept constructive criticism from supervisors.
-Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.
