Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization
in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a compassionate
and skilled Registered Nurse for our Main Recovery Room. This
integral role involves providing critical care to patients
recovering from surgeries and procedures, ensuring they receive the
highest standard of care during the recovery process. As a
Registered Nurse in our recovery room, you will work closely with a
team of medical professionals to monitor patients' progress, manage
pain, and ensure a smooth and safe recovery. Monitor patients’
recovery post-surgery, noting vital signs and managing pain Assess
patients’ conditions and implement appropriate nursing
interventions Educate patients and their families about
post-surgery care Collaborate with surgeons and other medical staff
to ensure comprehensive care Maintain accurate patient records and
prepare reports on patients' status Administer medications as
prescribed and monitor responses Ensure all recovery equipment is
functioning correctly and adheres to safety standards Proficient in
monitoring vital signs Strong interpersonal and communication
skills Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments
Experience with pain management Competency in using healthcare
software and patient databases Medical Insurance Dental Insurance
Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid Registered Nurse (RN)
license in the state of Maryland, D.C., or Virginia Basic Life
Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
(ACLS) preferred
