Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leader in patient-first healthcare in the
D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a dedicated Registered
Nurse (RN) to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This
position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic,
patient-centered environment focused on delivering exceptional
post-operative care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for
monitoring patients' post-operative recovery, administering
medications, and providing timely updates to the surgical team and
family members. Monitor patient vital signs and recovery progress
post-surgery. Administer prescribed medications and document
patients' responses. Assist in the recovery of patients from
anesthesia. Communicate effectively with surgeons,
anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. Provide
education and support to patients and their families regarding
post-operative care. Strong ability to monitor and interpret vital
signs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in managing multiple patients simultaneously. Knowledge
of anesthesia recovery protocols. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid Registered
Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. BLS certification
required. ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
