Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a
Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) position at a Magnet, Level I
Pediatric Trauma Center children's hospital, requiring a minimum of
2 years of dedicated CVPICU experience. Details - Work setting is a
Magnet-designated, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center children's
hospital with 323 inpatient beds - Unit is the Cardiovascular
Pediatric ICU (CVPICU) - Patient population is pediatric
cardiovascular, with floating to other critical care units
(NICU/PICU) as needed - Patient ratio is 1:2 - Charting system is
Cerner - Shifts are 3x12-hour days (7:00–19:30) or nights
(19:00–7:30), with rotation between day and night shifts every 3–4
weeks - Self-scheduled with no guarantee of straight shifts - Every
other weekend required - No on-call required - 13-week contract
Requirements - Active DC RN license required prior to start date;
pending license accepted with screenshot and application date
provided at time of consideration - Current BLS and PALS
certifications required - Minimum 2 years of recent, dedicated
CVPICU experience required — floating or cross-coverage experience
does not qualify - Cardiac training is required; candidates should
indicate cardiac training background when applying - Must be able
to rotate between day and night shifts Additional Information -
Nurses will float to other critical care units (NICU/PICU) as
needed with no age restriction - Every other holiday coverage
required - RTO is limited to 1 week maximum; a full week of RTO
must be made up at the end of the contract - Scrubs must be any
solid color, logo-free, and child-friendly - Rotating shift staff
must park offsite; parking is approximately $35/month - A photo ID
must be provided upon contract signature if an offer is accepted -
