Services Overview GW’s wound care program supports patients across
a multidisciplinary limb preservation model—built to reduce
amputations and streamline complex care (vascular, plastics,
podiatry/ortho, infectious disease, wound experts, and more). Our
Wound Care Services leadership is deeply integrated into hospital
quality and pressure injury prevention efforts, reflecting a strong
outcomes- and standards-driven culture. Position Summary The
Outpatient Wound Care RN provides skilled nursing assessment,
treatment support, and patient education for individuals with
complex wounds. This role supports clinic flow, assists with
procedures and advanced therapies, ensures accurate wound
documentation, and reinforces best practices for healing and
prevention. Main Tasks • Assess wounds: stage, measure, document,
and track progress. • Help with treatments: dressing changes,
compression, support, and wound vac. • Assist with procedures and
coordinate supplies/referrals. • Educate patients/families and
reinforce home-care plans. • Maintain EMR documentation and support

Qualifications Required • Current RN license in the District of
Columbia (or eligibility to obtain prior to start) • ADN required;
BSN preferred • Minimum 2 years RN experience (acute care,
ambulatory, or specialty clinic experience acceptable) • Current
BLS (AHA) • Strong patient education skills and comfort with
frequent dressing changes/clinic throughput Preferred • Wound
certification (WCC / CWS / CWCN / CWOCN) or commitment to obtain •
Experience with compression therapy, offloading, and NPWT •
Ostomy/peristomal skin experience a plus About Universal Health
