Job Description:

work. Experience: • 12 months of role experience is required with
some in the last 12 months. • Must have at least 12 months of
Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience. • BSN completion
preferred Requirements: • Candidates must have a District of
Columbia license (required for submission). • This role will
require floating to multiple units • Local & travel allowed.
Candidates living • 12 months gap required between for Staff at
Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health and no current placement
allowed at Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health. Pre-employment
modules may be required for this role. Please upload any

expedite your on-boarding process. Additional Details: Required
Skills/Experience: - Candidate must successfully pass the Relias
EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80%
and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms. - Experience with wound
care/wound vac and surgical drains required. - Candidates are
assigned facility-and unit-specific Sitel modules upon hire, which
must be completed within one week of signing their contract. - You
must be able to complete labs and DS appointment within 48 hours of
signing. - Unit Details: CBI, Trach suction/care, Laryngectomy,
Thyroidectomy, EKG, IV, Phlebotomy, Central line dressing changes,
Peritoneal Dialysis. - Required skills from clinical team: MS/Tele,
Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias,
Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response/Code
teams, Feeding tube care and management, Blood Product
Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line
Care/Management, PICC line management, Heparin Protocols, PCA,
Surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, Nasal Cannula,
Tracheostomy care/management, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Wound
Care/Wound Vac. - At least 1 travel assignment completed if less
than 4 years of experience. Preferred Skills/Experience: -
Telemetry - Accessing/Managing Ports - Phlebotomy - Starting and
maintaining IVs - Teaching Hospital Experience Required
Credentials: - For DC locations – You must have DC license in hand,
but certain units accept pending (See JD). MedStar will usually
accept a later booking date if you have applied for DC licensure. -
For MD Locations – You must have compact license or MD license.
Special Requests: - No RTO is permitted during the first two weeks
of the assignment. - RTO must be included at the time of submittal
and cannot be changed once the profile has been sent to the manager
for review. - Amount of RTO: No more than 7 days per 13-week
contract. Shift & Scheduling: - Pay package can vary depending on
which shift (Day 3x12 Hours 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM / Night 3x12 Hours
6:30 PM - 7:00 AM). - Weekend rotation included (every other
required). - Rotating shifts can vary between switching between
days and nights within the same week and/or working a few weeks of
days and then a few weeks of nights. Flexibility is a must.
Floating Requirements: - Required to float within units of
equivalent or lower level of acuity. Job Highlights: - Our 16-bed
Plastic Surgery and Limb Salvage unit, with all-private rooms and
the ability to offer continuous pulse oximetry, provides
exceptional post- operative care for patients undergoing complex
procedures. Common surgical procedures include reconstructive
plastic surgery, diabetic limb salvage often with reconstructive
flaps, complex wound management, and surgical wound care. This team
is notable for its collaborative interdisciplinary practice. Our
nurses work closely with an exceptional Nurse Practitioner team,
who assist to create a strong standard in patient care and
facilitate a communication pathway among the physicians, physical
therapists and clinical pharmacists on a daily basis. - Patient Age
Groups: Adults, Geriatrics. - Provider Supports: Physical Therapy,
Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Social Services,
Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary. - May come in contact
with COVID patients. - Manager interviews are not guaranteed.
Travelers must be comfortable proceeding without an interview.
Details: • AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW : This is an auto-offer
position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to
receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon
request. All time off requests must be submitted at application.
Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly
upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require
a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the
offer must be declined. 7 days maximum time off 2 references from
