Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/06/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position at a community hospital, requiring prior travel experience and the ability to pass a Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam. /n /n Responsibilities/n - MS/Tele Float Pool position within a community hospital setting - Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM - Patient ratio of 1:6 - 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period - No on-call responsibilities - Floating required within skillset and acuity level - Charting via Cerner (required) - Patient population includes cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and renal cases - Skills include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, blood product administration, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, heparin protocols, and wound care - Previous charge nurse experience is preferred - Candidates who were previously employed with MedStar must have been separated for a minimum of one year before being eligible to return as a traveler - Candidates may only be submitted to one MedStar location at a time - No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; no more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract, and all RTO must be disclosed upfront - Local candidates residing within 60 miles are accepted; candidate's address must match their driver's license to determine local status - Manager interviews are not guaranteed - Previous charge nurse experience is preferred /n /n Requirements/n - Active MD or compact RN license required - Certifications required: BLS; ACLS and NIHSS preferred - Minimum 2 years of RN experience required - Prior travel nursing experience required - Community hospital experience required - Cerner EMR experience required - Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms - Two supervisor references required (within the past 2 years) - Driver's license required for consideration /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-677094.
