Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading non-profit healthcare organization in
the DMV area, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered
Nurse for its Medical/Surgical Unit. This position is instrumental
in providing high-quality patient care and support in a dynamic
hospital setting. The role involves direct patient care, management
of medical records, and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary
team to optimize health outcomes for patients undergoing surgical
procedures or needing medical care. Administer medications, monitor
patient conditions and report changes to the appropriate personnel.
Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications and
treatments. Assist with the implementation and evaluation of
patient care plans. Collaborate with physicians and
multidisciplinary team members. Provide guidance and education to
patients and their families on treatment plans. Ensure all medical
equipment is properly maintained and utilized. Maintain patient
confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines. Strong clinical
skills in a medical/surgical environment Excellent communication
and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a
high-pressure environment Proficiency in using medical software and
electronic health records Strong organizational skills and
attention to detail Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid RN license in the state of
practice Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Advanced
Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
