Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – MS/Tele Facility: University of Maryland Saint Joseph Medical Center Location: 7601 Osler Dr, Towson, MD 21204-7582 Start Date: 03/09/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Schedule: 3x12 (19:00 – 07:30), Every Other Weekend (EOW) Charting System: Epic (preferred) Float Required: Yes, within MS/Tele specialty and lower acuity as needed Call Requirement: Not required Note: Weekends every other, floating within hospital, first-time travelers with strong MS/Tele or general surgery/ortho skills acceptable Position Overview: Provides comprehensive nursing care to adult, geriatric, and select adolescent patients in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit, including assessment, monitoring, and management of patient conditions. Implements care plans, administers medications, performs specialized procedures, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes. Job Duties: - Monitor and manage patients on cardiac telemetry and MS/Tele unit - Perform pre/post hemodialysis care and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) - Administer IV therapy, blood products, and manage central/PICC lines - Provide care for post-surgical patients including ortho, spine, colorectal, hepatobiliary, urology, and GYN surgeries - Monitor vital signs, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to emergency situations - Assist with oxygen therapy, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and non-invasive airway management - Perform phlebotomy, wound care, and apply isolation precautions - Use hospital communication systems including White Boards, Bedside shift report, zebra phone, and Tiger Connect Requirements: Licensure: RN Maryland state license (active) Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred; must have general surgery/ortho experience, MS/Tele experience preferred Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CPI preferred Other Requirements: Must be able to float within hospital, comfortable managing adult/geriatric/adolescent patients with telemetry needs, EOW and holiday coverage required Unit Details: Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry – 6th Floor Patient Ratios: 1:5 Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics, select Adolescents Patient Diagnoses: Cardiac, post-surgical ortho/spine/GYN/colorectal/urology/hepatobiliary, dysrhythmias, renal failure Number of Beds: 41 Daily Census: Variable Vaccine Policy: COVID-19: Not required Flu: Required – no exemptions Local Radius Rule: Candidates must live 50 miles or more from the hospital HonorVet Technologies Job ID 31843651.
