Information $2,038 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care
Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience:
Minimum of 2 years required. License: Must have state license in
hand prior to start date. Certifications: BLS, DC RN Licensure
required. ACLS, NIHSS, and BSN preferred. Must-Have: Candidate must
successfully pass the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum
overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms. Must
have completed one prior travel assignment. Weekend requirement:
every other weekend required. Float requirement: required to float
within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. Description:
This position is in a 28-bed Intermediate Care Unit. We specialize
in neurosciences and stroke but also care for general intermediate
care patients. Nurses will work with patients primarily recovering
from neurosurgery and neurological events such as strokes and
seizures. The patient population also includes those with
complications from medical conditions like sepsis, cardiac
arrhythmias, and diabetes. We require nurses to be able to
interpret telemetry. Experience with the management of dysrhythmias
is essential. Certain drips may have to be managed based on
standing orders, particularly insulin and heparin protocols. Wound
care skills and the ability to manage tracheostomy patients are
also important. Team collaboration is crucial as interdisciplinary
support is available. Nurses will provide patient-centered care
following best practices and guidelines. Candidates should be
adaptable and willing to learn new protocols as necessary.
