Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is
seeking an experienced RN for a Level III NICU night shift position
in Washington, DC, requiring a DC RN license and at least three
years of recent NICU experience. Responsibilities - Work in a Level
III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - Care for neonates from 23 weeks
gestation up to 4 months old - Typical conditions treated include
extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis,
hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium
aspiration syndrome - Perform advanced NICU procedures including
ventilation management, use of oscillators, pressors, and care of
micro preemies - Provide services such as nasal CPAP, mechanical
ventilation, high frequency oscillation, and nitric oxide therapy -
Assist with bedside procedures including IV insertion, septic
workups, intubations, and percutaneous catheter insertions -
12-hour night shifts, 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, three shifts per week -
Respond to neonatal emergencies, provide immediate assessment and
care for newborns, and attend all C-sections and high-risk
deliveries - Most diagnostic services are performed at bedside -
Provide parent teaching as part of discharge preparation -
References from two managers or supervisors verifying recent
experience preferred - First-time travelers are eligible for
consideration Requirements - Active and unencumbered DC RN license
required at time of consideration - Three years or more of NICU
experience required - AHA BLS, NRP, STABLE certifications required
- CPI certification mandated by position - At least two years of
recent hospital-based experience in NICU in the United States -
Must reside at least 25 miles from the facility - U.S. Social
