Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: OR - Operating Room - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/10/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a DC license or proof of pending status and at least two years of experience. Responsibilities - Position based in the Operating Room of a hospital setting - Day shifts available: 3x12 hours (6:00-19:00 or 11:59-23:30) - Patient care includes general OR cases as well as bariatrics, ENT, neurology, orthopedics, and urology - Specialized procedures performed include total joints, spine, craniotomy, free flaps, cyto reduction, bariatric, and ENT/OMF cases - Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity - Weekend requirement is one shift per six-week schedule - Six on-call shifts per six-week schedule - Scrub color is ceil blue - Flu vaccine required for all staff - Responsibilities include circulating and assisting in advanced operating room cases - Required to complete orientation and modules prior to start, with average module time of 12 hours - Team-based environment with staff and traveler support - No RTO allowed within the first two weeks of the assignment and up to 7 days time off allowed during a 13 week contract - Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted - Manager interview is optional and may not be conducted - Dress code requires ceil blue scrubs Requirements - Active DC RN license or proof of pending licensure required at time of consideration and must be in hand before start date - Minimum of two years recent OR RN experience required - BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred - Experience with general OR, bariatrics, ENT, neurology, orthopedic, and urology procedures required - Unit accepts first-time travelers with appropriate experience - Two supervisor references required from the past two years - Return staff must have been separated for at least one year to be eligible Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-618585.
