Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/17/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring a compact or MD license and strong cardiac and neurological critical care skills. Responsibilities - Work in a short-term acute care hospital ICU/CCU unit - 12-hour night shifts (3x12) from 19:00 to 07:00 - ICU patient ratio is 1:2 - Patient population includes cardiac and neuro critical care cases as well as chronic/acute renal failure - Float required to Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Intermediate Care (IMC) as needed - Charting is completed using Cerner EMR - Six weekend shifts are required per contract - On-call coverage required for every other weekend and holiday rotation - Manage critically ill patients with a focus on complex cardiac, neurological, and renal conditions - Must be able to float as needed to support other units in the facility - First-time travelers are welcome to apply - Flu vaccination is required - Scrubs are not provided; dress code is hunter green - Parking is free of charge - RTO must be included at time of application and is limited to 7 days per 13 week contract, with no RTO allowed in the first two weeks - Candidates living within 60 miles are eligible at a local rate Requirements - Active MD or compact state RN license required at time of consideration - Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required - Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS - Strong skills in cardiac ICU care, telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management - Proficiency with IV therapy including insulin protocols, arterial line, blood product admin, central and PICC line management, continuous IV sedation, and titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips - Experience with neurological care including CVA/acute stroke management - Proficiency in respiratory/ventilator care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, HFNC, ABG interpretation, suctioning, and ventilator management - Two supervisor references required - Candidates who have previously worked for this health system must have at least a 1-year gap in employment to be eligible Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622047.
