Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details - Location: Washington, DC 20007 – Prime Georgetown location, close to historic sites and cultural attractions - Assignment Type: Travel nursing job - Unit: 16-bed Plastic Surgery and Limb Salvage (Med/Surg Tele) - Start Date: December 1, 2025 - End Date: March 2, 2026 - Duration: 13-week contract - Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (06:30 - 19:00), 36 hours/week - Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend required - Float Requirement: May float to units of equivalent or lower acuity - Patient Ratio: 1:6 - Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions) - Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1590 - $1710 Registered Nurse Qualifications - Active DC Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission - BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred) - Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry or Surgical Telemetry experience - Experience with wound care, wound vacs, and surgical drains - Proficiency with Cerner EMR charting system - Successful completion of Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (minimum 80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms) - At least 1 completed travel RN assignment if less than 4 years of experience - Ability to work rotating shifts (days/nights as needed) - Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity - Two supervisor references required Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities - Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients recovering from complex surgical procedures, including reconstructive plastic surgery and diabetic limb salvage - Monitor and manage surgical wounds, wound vacs, and surgical drains - Interpret and monitor telemetry rhythms; respond to rapid response and code situations - Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team including Nurse Practitioners, physicians, physical therapists, pharmacists, and social workers - Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR - Float to other medical-surgical or telemetry units as required - Participate in weekend rotations and demonstrate flexibility with scheduling - Maintain infection control and isolation precautions in accordance with hospital policies Apply now to join our dedicated healthcare team in Washington, DC and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
