We are looking for a dedicated RN Quality Outcomes Specialist like you to be a part of our team.Job Summary And QualificationsWe are seeking a highly-skilled RN Quality Outcomes Specialist to join our quality management teams. In this role you will participate in the collection, review and interpretation of clinical data, with correlation to clinical excellence performance metrics and continuous performance improvement.   • As a RN Quality Outcomes Specialist, you will conduct clinical rounding with attention to use of evidence-based practice protocols adopted by the facility as best practice.
  • You will support and message the importance of healthcare outcomes as they relate to safe and effective quality healthcare during shift huddles, unit rounds, interdisciplinary rounds, and other facility gatherings.
  • As you identify needs for informational and educational sessions, you will prepare materials for these sessions, and deliver the learning to staff.
  • You will collect data and review events through observation in the clinical setting, observe clinical processes and conduct surveillance activities, with immediate intervention (just-in-time) as indicated.
  • Actively participate as a member of the patient care team, in unit activities to include shift huddles, unit rounds, interdisciplinary rounds, and other performance improvement activities that contribute to, or advance strategic goals of healthcare delivery. Strategic goals will encompass customer service, clinical processes, practice patterns, and patient outcome measures.
  • Observe clinical processes and conduct surveillance activities, with immediate intervention (just-in-time) as indicated.
  • Create and present concise, factual case reviews including pertinent elements needed for evaluation and appropriate action by peer review committees, leadership, and quality improvement teams.
  • Interpret data and integrate into healthcare practice, and form ideas for process improvement, develop and engage team solutions.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of changing performance measurements for high quality patient outcomes.
  • Participate consistently in hospital and shared governance committees.
  • Locate, access, and understand local and national best practices and performance benchmarks related to patient experience and outcomes.
  • In this role you will interact with patients and families regarding less than expected care experience, facilitate action and resolution with leadership, and provide timely written correspondence for case closure, maintaining cultural awareness.
  • When dealing with hospital staff, leadership, co-workers, patients, visitors and other customers, you will maintain cultural awareness.What qualifications you will need:
    • Graduate of accredited School of Nursing (BSN or current enrollment in BSN program preferred).
    • Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
    • 3 years of clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
    • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) within one year of position acceptance/hire date.
    • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification within three months of position acceptance/hire date.CJW Medical Center is comprised of Chippenham Hospital and Johnston-Willis Hospital.
