Job Summary:
In coordination with the Area Director, Operations, directs and
manages the planning, development, implementation, delivery, and
evaluation of quality patient care throughout the assigned area
medical office buildings. Directs the delivery of service that add
value and are integrated with nursing standards of practice,
service priorities and performance/outcome measures, as well as
with strategic, business, and organizational
goals/objectives.Essential Responsibilities:
- Through department managers/staff, directs and manages the
delivery of nursing services and safe patient care which are
integrated with business plans and meet or exceed cost, quality,
clinical and utilization standards, and performance measures.
- In collaboration with MAPMG, executes the nursing vision and
strategic plan across their defined area.
- Provides oversight and direction for all associated management
functions for the ambulatory practices, which include the multitude
of clinical and business performance metrics, providing leadership
in clinical performances and patient satisfaction improvement
processes.
- Directs and ensures continuous quality and safety of staff and
patients and improvement of all clinical practices, services, and
operations by managing the design and implementation of systems,
processes, and methods to evaluate and improve safe patient
care.
- Plans, develops and/or directs the implementation of
initiatives by sharing best practices and standards of care.
- Directs and/or delegates to managers the appropriate delivery
and level of services.
- Directs budget management and resource allocation.
- Manages financial performance and identifies and implements
strategies to reduce costs and improve quality and safety of care
and service.
- Manages and resolves human resource, labor relations, employee
and department safety and risk management issues.
- Hires, fires, and disciplines as part of performance
management.
- Directs compliance with administrative, legal, and regulatory
requirements of governmental and regulatory agencies.
- Leads projects and improvement initiatives across the region
and within the service area.
- Consistently improves the experience for leaders and teams to
create the best place to work.
- Collaborates with other leaders to improve performance for the
service area and region.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory rules, laws,
and policies.Basic Qualifications:
Experience
- Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience, in an acute care
or complex ambulatory setting.
- Minimum three (3) years of supervisory/leadership
experience.Education
- Bachelors degree in nursing required.License, Certification,
Registration
- This job requires credentials from multiple states. Credentials
from the primary work state are required before hire. Additional
Credentials from the secondary work state(s) are required post
hire.
- Registered Nurse License (Virginia) within 6 months of hire AND
Registered Nurse License (Maryland) within 6 months of hire OR
- Compact License: Registered Nurse within 6 months of
hire
- Registered Nurse License (District of Columbia) within 6 months
of hire
Additional Requirements:
- Effective team building, conflict resolution, persuasive
communication and presentation skills required.
- Strong analytical skills and experience analyzing medical
expenses, staffing models and utilization and the ability to
analyzing complex functions, procedures, and problems to find
creative, logical, and effective solutions.
- Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects and utilize
time management skills.
- Ability to build relationships through responsive, respectful
communications and positive collaborations across many departments
or organizational segments.
- Ability to be a change agent and assist in behavioral
transformation of staff (strategy, motivation, vision/mission
development, consistency). Must be able to work in a
Labor/Management Partnership environment.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the following areas: Service
Orientation, Communication, Influence, Change Leadership, Results
Orientation, Leadership Development and Cultural Competence.
- Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership
environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a managed care setting preferred.
- Masters degree preferred.
