Job Description:
Under supervision, provides language translation services to
patients, their families and staff for an array of medical
documents including, but not limited to, patient education
materials, hospital forms, patient letters, medical consents,
medical records, etc.Minimum EducationBachelor's Degree
(Required)Minimum Work Experience3 years Experience as a
translator. (Required)Required Skills/KnowledgeBilingual capability
and certified in Spanish Language TranslationRequired Licenses and
Certifications Spanish A T A Certification (Required)Functional
AccountabilitiesEliminates Language Barriers to Patient
CareFacilitates written communication among patients, families, and
staff. Converts concepts in the source language to equivalent
concepts in the target language. Relays the style and tone of the
original language. Renders written message accurately, quickly and
clearly . Speak, read and write fluently in at least two language,
including English and one or more others. Serves as proof reader
during peer review process for translated material in Spanish
Promotes Appropriate Utilization of Translation Services by
StaffEducates staff in the process of how to appropriately request
translation services Maintains l communication at all times with
internal and external customers regarding progress, deliverables,
delays, etc Works closely with other departments providing
recommendations Uses resources efficiently in order to maximize
productivity and maintain costs low Collaborates with the Manager
of Patient and Family Education to streamline process Contributes
to a Well-Organize ProgramTranslates requests in a timely fashion
to meet requestor needs and datelinesMaintains required
logs/tracking system in order to track project progress and
productivityMaintains translation statistics and performs analysis
of program utilization and other metricsCoordinates distribution of
assignment based on program needsEfficiently utilizes tools
available to provide translations of the highest qualityManages own
time to be productiveMaintains archives and databases related to
