Unit Description: Hematology Oncology Care Unit includes the
Hematology, Oncology and Blood and Marrow Transplant patients. The
32-bed inpatient unit admits children of all ages with
hematological and/or oncology, and blood and marrow transplant
inpatient clinical needs. Significant populations include: - Newly
diagnosed oncology diseases (leukemia/lymphoma, solid tumors, neuro
oncology) - Chemotherapy - Sickle cell disease - Pain crisis in
hemoglobinopathy - Fever/neutropenia - Bacteremia - Anemia/blood
disorders - Acute chest syndrome/pneumonia - Thrombocytopenia -
Blood and marrow and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation TOP 5

Qualifications
Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree Graduated from an approved
school of nursing. (Required) BSN (Preferred) Minimum Work
Experience 2 years of hematology/oncology/BMT experience (Required)
Required Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse in District
of Columbia (Required)Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider
(BLS) (Required) APHON Chemobiotherapy Provider (Required)
