University Ithaca, NYThe College of Veterinary Medicine and the
Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management in the SC Johnson
College of Business at Cornell University invites applications for
a tenure track position in veterinary economics and management. The
successful candidate will have a joint appointment in the
veterinary and business colleges via the Cornell Center for
Veterinary Business and Entrepreneurship, established in 2019 to
facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and problem-solving to
advance the veterinary profession. Department affiliation to be
determined based on interest and expertise of the successful
candidate. We anticipate department home in Population Medicine and
Diagnostic Sciences, Public and Ecosystem Health, or Clinical
Sciences.RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate is expected to
establish a distinguished program of research in veterinary
economics and engage a variety of internal and external
stakeholders in support of the Center and amplify the impact of its
research agenda. Responsibilities will be primarily research with
some teaching expectations.The research should apply economics
methodologies to investigate important issues currently facing the
veterinary profession. These issues might include: industrial
organization and veterinary practice consolidation, practice
ownership transition, technology assessment, supply and demand for
veterinary services, consumer behavior as it relates to emerging
service models, and consumer marketing. The candidate is expected
to publish in leading scholarly journals in veterinary medicine,
economics, or management related fields.OPPORTUNITIES: Cornell has

Cornell Center for Veterinary Business and Entrepreneurship is a
partnership between Cornell University's College of Veterinary
Medicine and SC Johnson College of Business. The Center brings
together top-ranked programs in veterinary medicine, economics and
management, hotel administration, and graduate applied economics
and business to explore new business opportunities in veterinary
medicine and to solve some of the most pressing challenges facing
animal healthcare delivery. The Center focuses efforts on four
strategic areas: veterinary economics research, education,
entrepreneurship, and intrapreneurship.QUALIFICATIONS: A PhD in
agricultural or applied economics, economics, or a related
discipline is required. Preference may be given to individuals with
a strong research background on industrial organization, economics
of consumer behavior, production economics, or

Agriculture and Life Sciences, Computer and Information Sciences,
Economics, Engineering, Natural Resources, the New York City Tech
