Job DescriptionThe Executive Vice President (EVP) of Medicine, either an MD or DO, coordinates the overall medical program for Maternal Child Care, Inc. They will engage in defining the overall clinical business strategy and clinical direction of the organization. This EVP position leads and provides direction to the overall vision for the medical services of the organization. The position provides oversight, expertise, and leadership to ensure the delivery of affordable quality healthcare services. Responsibilities also include the strategy, development and implementation of innovative clinical programs that includes collaboration with external stakeholders aligned with the mission and vision of our client. This is an onsite role in the Washington DC area. -Responsibility

  • Coordinates the overall medical program
  • Engages in defining the overall business strategy and direction of the organization as a member of the Senior Executive team -
    • Leads the overall clinical vision for the medical services of the organization to ensure quality patient care -
    • Provides clinical oversight, -expertise, -and leadership to ensure -the -delivery of affordable quality healthcare services -
    • Generates strategies, development and implementation of innovative clinical programs -that includes -collaboration with external stakeholders aligned with the mission and vision our client
    • Identifies opportunities to collaborate and develop clinical integration opportunities internally and with other health delivery systems to achieve -quality focused -affordable outcomes -
    • Provides clinical guidance, -support, -and education to clinical and network management organizations. - -
      • Designs programs and develops strategies for accomplishing the goals and objectives for a federally qualified health center (FQHC) -
      • Approves all medical protocols used by the clinical staff & reviews them annually to ensure consistency with current evidence-based practices. -
      • Oversees -the following: - -Credentialing Committee - -Provider performance (quality, -utilization, coding, -and -billing) -All clinical services -in the medical service line, the respective -specialties (Infectious Disease, HIV, MAT, -geriatrics, -telemedical, obstetric sonography, etc.), and employee health -
        • Assists with the URAC Accreditation process and maintaining the URAC standards for -healthcare services -and -credentialing. -
        • Develops and implements strategic goals related to quality improvement, management of medical programs and accreditation standards. - -
        • Develops the medical service line annual budgets -
        • Assists -with analytics and development of quality measures for new payment models (value based/risk-based payment structures). -
          • Builds and leverages cross functional collaborative relationships to achieve shared organizational goals. -
          • Promotes collaboration to both internal and external healthcare team members. -
          • Collaborates with -Executive Vice President of Health and Programs -to supervise the clinical staff -(providers, nurses, -medical assistants, and ancillary medical support staff) -
          • Recruits and retains staff who possess the necessary knowledge, skill, and attitude to work effectively as members of the health care team. -
          • Works in tandem with the Development Office -to develop/identify funding opportunities for new services/programs. -
            • Maintains effective, collaborative relationships with appropriate academic institutions, hospitals and other FQHCs in the District of Columbia and Maryland. -
            • Participates in external meetings to promote the health care needs of -patients while also supporting efforts to ensure the delivery of quality public health for the District of Columbia and Maryland residents. -
            • Submits productivity reports and adjust practices as necessary to achieve staff productivity that -in -alignment with the forecasted annual budget. - -
            • Assists in preparing the annual federal UDS reports. -
            • Supervises all site administrative medical directors and work closely with them to provide clinical leadership. -
              • Leads medical leadership and senior medical leadership meetings. -
              • Spearheads the initiatives to achieve meaningful use designation and patient-centered medical home status. -
              • Provides leadership and the successful implementation of a financially sustainable sonography program
              • Responsible for ensuring -medical practices -are in compliance with -standards necessary to maintain the -FTCA medical malpractice insurance -
              • Develops, leads, and grows a financially sustainable model that will allow our clinicians to build a patient base which will support and grow the 340B Pharmacy program -
                • Develops, leads, and grows -a high quality, comprehensive, -financially sustainable -suite of clinical services -which -will -meet the needs of the communities we serve. - -Required Qualifications
                  • A board certified and licensed medical -doctor -(MD or DO) in the District of Columbia and Maryland, with a minimum -of -5 years clinical -and management experience, preferably in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) -/ -community ambulatory care setting. - -
                  • A -thorough knowledge of -primary care -specialties -(OB/GYN, Family practice, Internal Medicine, and -Pediatrics) -
                  • Knowledge or willingness to learn about diverse cultures. - -
                  • Strategic and innovative thinker with proven ability to communicate a vision and drive results. -
                  • Demonstrated management, organizational and interpersonal skills. -
                    • Ability to relate effectively to community interest groups, agencies and medical facilities that serve our client's -population. - -
                    • Self-assured and results oriented. - -
                    • Experience and demonstrated successful leadership of case management, disease management and/or population health programs. - -
                    • Demonstrated ability to assess business needs, design and implement programs and evaluate results. - -
                    • Ability to work well under pressure in situations that require meeting multiple and sometimes competing deadlines. - -
