Academic Hospitalist, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital
The Division of Hospital Medicine at MedStar Georgetown University
Hospital includes over 20 hospitalists and three advanced practice
providers (APPs) who provide inpatient care on both teaching and
non-teaching services. While on the teaching service, the
hospitalist will supervise Internal Medicine residents and
Georgetown University School of Medicine third- and fourth-year
medical students. There are ample teaching opportunities at bedside
and with formal didactics, as well as opportunities to participate
in other Georgetown University School of Medicine activities.
We are seeking hospitalists who are committed to a career in
academic hospital medicine, have a strong interest in patient care
(including quality improvement), and are skilled at role modeling
for our learners. Flexible scheduling allows our academic
hospitalists sufficient time to pursue their academic interests
while maximizing patient continuity. Hospitalists must be Internal
Medicine board-eligible or boarded.
