The Family Centered Care (FCC) Unit at Inova Fairfax Medical
Campus is seeking an experienced Postpartum RN to join our
team!Shift: Full-time, nights - 3 x 12 hour shifts per week, 7:00pm

postpartum nurse assumes care for the mother/baby couplet shortly
following delivery. The nurse monitors the mother frequently during
her recovery period and the body's transition back to normalcy. The
nurse monitors the baby's transitional period from intrauterine
into the world. Supporting breastfeeding is a key component in the
postpartum period for the couplet dyad. Maintaining pain control,
educating on self-care and newborn care along with handling
deviations from current plan of care are top priorities for the RN.

Additional RequirementsA minimum of 6 months of Registered Nurse
clinical experience in the acute care setting
Education: BSN or MSN or
If Associates Degree RN-Within 6 months of start date, meet with

attend
Submit a review of transcript from the school indicating the
required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses
Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date.
Complete BSN within 24 months of start dateBLS for Healthcare
Provider Certification from the American Heart Association
required
RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of
Virginia as a RN
Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication
skills. Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display
a caring demeanor towards others. Proficient computer skills
