Full-time APP needed for inpatient surgical service at level 1 trauma center. This service includes patients within general surgery, surgical oncology, endocrine surgery, and hepatobiliary surgery. You will work in conjunction with existing APPs and surgical residents to complete daily duties, including admissions and discharges, daily rounds and notes, consults, multi-disciplinary care coordination, attending to RN needs, and patient education. There is potential for some first-assisting in OR as well (one morning per week, as case load dictates). This position is intended to create continuity of care for patients, surgeons, and surgical residents who rotate on and off the service. There is also opportunity to precept PA students.

Proposed schedules are either 5 8-hour days, or 4 10-hour days per week. There are no weekend or call requirements. Would prefer an APP with at least 2 years of clinical experience, but will consider the right new graduate. First-assist experience or RNFA certificate a plus, but willing to train for OR needs.

Requirements

Experience- Three to five years of progressive clinical experience with primary care management of patient population.

Education-Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program

Certification- BLS; ACLS if critical care; NCCPA Board Certified. Maintains necessary CME requirements as outlined by the NCCPA.

Licensure-Current Virginia License.
