Southeast is the southeastern quadrant of Washington, D.C., the
capital of the United States, and is located south of East Capitol
Street and east of South Capitol Street. It includes the Capitol
Hill and Anacostia neighborhoods, the Navy Yard, the U.S. Marine
Barracks, the Anacostia River waterfront, Eastern Market, the
remains of several Civil War-era forts, historic St. Elizabeth's

Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) is the District of
Columbia's agency responsible for determining eligibility for
supports and services for people with intellectual and other
developmental disabilities; for ensuring an adequate system of
qualified provider agencies and ensuring that people are linked to
other resources and agencies that may meet their needs.

Overview (duties include but are not limited to)
The Medical Director shall take the lead in developing knowledge
and skills between the District's service coordinators and the
service provider network in identifying community resources
available for palliative and end of life care and integrate these
services within their network.
- Identify when support teams, including family members and
guardians could benefit from education and coaching while facing
decisions related to palliative or end of life care.
- Develop opportunities for networking, collaboration, exchange
of ideas and utilization of best practice.
- Be available to work with service coordinators, Health and
Wellness staff, service providers, and others as needed to ensure
that comprehensive end of life planning is taking place and
identify systemic recommendations and policies to be enacted to
improve this support. Qualifications
- Graduation with a degree of Doctor of Medicine, MD or DO, from
an accredited school.
- Must have completed an approved residency training program and
be Board Certified or Board Eligible.
- Must be able to be credentialed, privileged and possess a
current, permanent, full and unrestricted District of Columbia
license to practice medicine.
- Must have certification in Palliative Care.
- Must have at least two (2) years of CMO experience.
