The Marriott International HQ located at 10400 Fernwood Road, Bethesda, Maryland 20817 is currently hiring a Senior Director, BMSC Consulting, Brand. Responsibilities include: The Senior Director, BMSC Consulting - Brand, is a key member of the BMSC Consulting organization, responsible for providing consulting services to key stakeholders in the Global Brand organization. This leader partners with the Brand organization to define and develop strategies and offerings for Marriott Internationals portfolio of 30 brands. The BMSC Consulting team supports all brands and operates across the full lifecycle of projects, from assessment of early white-space opportunities to the deployment of complex programs. As a result, the Sr. Director will lead various high-priority brand initiatives and programs. Success in this role requires strong strategic thinking skills, a proven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, as well as a willingness to be tested on difficult projects and initiatives. This position reports to the VP, BMSC Consulting Brand. EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS Project and Strategy Leadership Lead cross-functional working teams comprised of senior discipline experts from Consumer Insights; Development; Feasibility; Global Operations, Market Operations; Global Design; Continent and Brand leadership to: Conduct consumer research and market opportunity assessments for the brands in targeted markets Create and deliver strategic brand business plans for target markets, inclusive of a viable economic strategy, product and service model, brand positioning, value proposition definition, competitive strategies (for product, service, growth, demand generation) Develop localized product and service offering for the brands in target markets consistent with the brands global positioning and the needs of the local target guest Develop country business case including estimated cost to build, proforma, cash flow analysis and valuation for identified markets Be a customer and competitive expert in select international markets to inform global business strategies, plans and initiatives Develop brand launch plans in support of new unit growth Work closely with Development and Continent executive leadership to ensure alignment on country strategy and growth. Strategy Execution Act as a project leader and day-to-day project decision maker with the following responsibilities: Accountable for delivering the results of the project Provide brand content guidance to the project Participate in review cycles at key milestones & provide go/no-go decision Sign off on deliverables Actively participate in ideation sessions Contribute to concept definition & development Develop & drive implementation plan Ensure appropriate sponsorship and resourcing Establish key milestones and approval roles Ensure timely delivery against milestones Serve as customer advocate by helping team resources understand target consumer needs in the local market Support the opening of hotels in new markets Secure alignment with Continent leadership on product direction CANDIDATE PROFILE - KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED Experience and Education 8+ years of strategy development, brand management or product management experience Lodging industry experience is preferred Solid track record of advancing business direction and strategies MBA or equivalent preferred Knowledge and Skills: Ability to develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with team members, internal stakeholders and external constituents Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate a compelling vision Constructive approach to dealing with conflict; strong mediation skills Strategic and innovative thinker; can create concepts and strategies Gathers and organizes information into a logical and systematic process Broad business view; sharp business acumen and financial savvy Ability to lead complex projects through management of multi-functional teams Attributes: Relationship builder; networker Reliable leader; poised under pressure Collaborative; team player Passion for understanding consumer behavior and passion for Marriotts brands Persistent, drives ideas Analytical, makes decisions using data Comfortable with complexity, ambiguity and change Trustworthy with strong business integrity Delivers results under difficult conditions and demonstrates balanced judgment under pressure To apply now, go to: https://jobs.marriott.com/marriott/jobs/19001CSC?%3Flang=en-us Marriott International is consistently recognized as an employer of choice globally by FORTUNE magazine, DiversityInc and Great Places to Work Institute, among others.
