The Marriott International HQ located at 10400 Fernwood Road, Bethesda, MD 20817 is currently hiring a Manager, Benefit Plan Management & Analysis. Responsibilities include: The Manager, Benefit Plan Management & Analysis position is an integral part of the Benefits team responsible for the management of Marriotts health and welfare plans [Plan]. This position manages ongoing Plan administration and operations, vendor relationships and initiatives to ensure operational excellence and financial results. In addition, this position is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives designed to promote associate health and wellbeing while managing the cost of healthcare for associates and the Company. The Manager has a unique ability to manage vendors and apply strategic thinking and data analysis to monitor and analyze Plan operations and support initiatives across the Benefits team. Expected Contributions Manage day-to-day operations of multiple health and insurance carriers ensuring the plans are administered according to Marriotts plan guidelines and comply with all relevant laws. Collaborate with Plan carriers providing guidance to deliver on Marriotts healthcare + benefits strategy and commitment to providing quality care to associates and their covered family members. Develop ongoing internal and external relationships that are integral to the administration of the Plans. Identify opportunities and lead changes to enhance the effectiveness of the Plans. Ensure the Plans service and processes meet Marriotts commitment to quality and provide an excellent participant experience. Manage the implementation of benefit design and procedural changes with Plan carriers. Work closely with internal teams and medical & insurance carriers to create a successful Annual Enrollment as well as foster ongoing collaborations and problem solving throughout the plan year. Facilitate reviews of all associate-facing internal and external Plan communications. Utilize a data warehouse and IBM Watson technology to analyze Plan data, measure outcomes and plan performance and derive insights to support a variety of initiatives. Partner with external Plan vendors to facilitate data integration. Collaborate with external consultants and vendors on the design, development and presentation of performance metrics and plan reporting. Participate in RFPs, vendor selection processes and lead the research and evaluation of a variety of program initiatives, providing recommendations to the Director, Benefits Plan Management and other leaders. Manage the review and ratification process of Plan and vendor contracts, NDAs and BAAs, etc. Manage and review Plan documents: SPDs, SMMs, SBCs, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Stay current on health and welfare regulations and determine proper internal and external education, communication, training and other needs related to changes in regulatory environment. For example: ACA and HIPAA compliance. Facilitate the completion of required filings, disclosures and document requests including DOL/HIPAA breech filings, CMS/Medicare Part D filing, CMS request letters and Medicare Secondary Payer Process. Collaborate closely with internal legal counsel on regulatory compliance initiatives and tasks. Collaborate with Benefits Team members and the Employer Brand + Communications Team to promote Marriotts benefits to associates and leaders. Work closely with Plan carrier account teams, and when necessary the Law Department, to resolve escalated and complex issues. Develop and present a variety of presentations for various stakeholders. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned Education Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, business, economics or related disciplines required. Candidate Profile Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong skills as follows: 5+ years experience in benefits, insurance or benefits consulting field. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting employee Health and Welfare benefit plans (ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, etc). Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop productive business relationships Strong computer skills, including working with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Excellent project management, prioritization, organization, and follow-through skills Specialized knowledge of medical and benefit administration terminology Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets, deriving insights and actionable findings Ability to work under pressure with a high sense of urgency and purpose Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Solid analytical and decision-making skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas, expectation and information in a concise, organized manner.
