Our tax servicesinclude: compliance, human capital services, federal tax services,international tax services, state and local tax services, private wealth services,tax reporting and advisory, partnership taxation, not-for-profit tax, andmergers & acquisition tax services. Grant Thornton seeks an experienced Sales & Use Tax AutomationSenior Manager to join our Tax Automation Practice. Grant Thornton's TaxAutomation Practice specializes in implementing and building solutions for ourclients in a wide range of industries. The Sales & Use Tax AutomationSenior Manager will manage third party indirect tax systems implementationteams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities* Manage the operation, maintenance, and enhancements of a variety of internal C# .NET and ASP.NET applications.* Manage a wide range of implementations, integrating third party indirect tax (Sales and Use tax) systems with major third party ERP and billing platforms (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Great Plains), as well as custom billing systems.* Oversee the team while gathering requirements, design, build, and testing of third party software products, as well as Grant Thornton's custom solutions.* Identify process improvement opportunities using technology solutions to increase overall process efficiency.* Ensure that projects are conducted in accordance with firm standards and completed on time and within budget.* Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills.* Manage multiple and various client projects simultaneously with ultimate responsibility for overall project and deliverables.* Other duties as assigned.* BA/BS degree in technically related field.* Seven plus years of experience with C#, ERP and major billing systems* Database technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MS Access.* Experience building databases and queries.* Management and leadership skills for team members and clients.* Ability to travel up to 70% for projects.* Extensive Java application experience.* Strong object-oriented design and development.* Hands-on experience with web services.* Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, etc.) and indirect tax systems (Thomson Reuters, ONESOURCE, Taxware Vertex).* Experience with XML/XSL/XSD.
