The Role
As the Director of HR & Talent, you will lead the strategy & execution for our HR & Talent function, and be primarily responsible for helping recruit, retain and develop the Storyblocks team. You will report to the SVP of Finance & HR, and partner closely with the CEO and other executives as you define the priorities and roadmap for our HR & Talent team.
In addition to serving as the head of our HR & Talent team, we expect that you champion our culture by reinforcing our Company Values, building our employer brand externally, and serving as the leading voice for all talent management topics. This includes providing support to our department heads as they build out Department Career Roadmaps, Individual Growth Plans, as well as directing our Leadership training program.
In this role, you will use data - both quantitative (eg CultureAmp pulse surveys) and qualitative (eg 1:1s) - as well as past experience to help prioritize initiatives that will help drive the business and its people forward.

Responsibilities


  • Lead and develop the HR & Talent team in support of Storyblocks' 100+ employees out of our headquarters in Arlington, VA
  • Own all recruiting efforts, including managing our candidate pipeline & ATS, our employer brand presence, as well as external relationships with recruiters
  • Assess, improve and manage internal talent development efforts, which include bi-annual 360 review processes, regular benchmarking, and a leadership training program
  • Champion employee engagement by utilizing data trends (eg surveys, 1:1s, etc) to identify, prioritize and design solutions to address issues impacting productivity & morale
  • Develop an executive dashboard to facilitate a conversation with the management team, and enable the HR & Talent team to track impact of key initiatives
  • Partner with senior leaders to provide strategic direction and input regarding overall Human Resource strategies, including assessing short and long-term talent needs, identifying critical talent gaps within the organization, and develop strategies to address
  • Work closely with the executive team to formalize a Diversity & Inclusion policy
  • Coach & mentor managers on effective goal setting, recruiting and interviewing, onboarding, performance management, and team development
  • Plan and execute annual open enrollment, and manage HRIS and benefits program in collaboration with external brokers
  • Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matter
  • Review and process all payroll matters, including but not limited to taxes, earnings deductions, etc.



    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated leadership in managing a comprehensive human resources program and team stretching across recruiting, talent development and HRIS/benefit administration
    • A proactive, strategic thinker who is action-oriented, driven to succeed, and results-oriented
    • Excellent internal and external collaboration skills, who has the ability to work in a fast-moving environment while also communicating clearly and concisely
    • Warm, humble, resourceful, with good judgement & ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Startup Environment/experience in a high growth technology startup a plus
    • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
    • Bachelor's degree with strong track record of academic performance
