Response/COOP/Safety Specialist Reports To: The Customer and
Project Manager Clearance Type: Active Top Secret Work Location:
Washington D.C. Metro Area (On-site only) Job Description:
Advantage SCI is accepting applications to support a federal agency
security program. This position will support all aspects of
emergency response planning such as the Occupant Emergency Plan,
COOP planning and operations, and Safety. This position is
considered to be an emergency response position and may be required
to deploy to an Emergency Relocation Site in the Washington DC
metro area for exercises or actual incidents. Exercises requiring
deployment occur every other year and last one to two days
typically. Summary of duties include but not limited to: Active
Shooter program development, implementation, and training delivery;
and coordination of CPR/First Aid and AED training. Assists with
creation, revision, dissemination, delivery and tracking of
training, and implementation of emergency response plans and
awareness programs such as the Occupant Emergency Plan, COOP Plan,
Active Shooter Conducts COOP program evaluations on monthly and
annual basis Applies appropriate analytical methods to analyze
emergency response and preparedness data and develops reports using
standardized methodologies and templates Trains all Occupant
Emergency Plan team members on proper radio use, procedures, and
processes. Coordinates the Annual National Emergency Preparedness
Event with Federal, State, Local and non-governmental organizations
to present health, safety, emergency preparedness information.
Communicates complex ideas and issues, both orally and in writing,
in a manner that is clear, correct, timely, and understandable
Independently takes meeting notes and composes briefing/meeting
summaries or minutes and distributes them to appropriate personnel.
Provides advice and guidance consistent with appropriate guidelines
Maintains an inventory and account for emergency rations and water;
First Aid Kits as well as safety and health supplies Experience and
Skills Required Qualifications: Must possess a Top Secret
clearance. NO EXCEPTIONS! Minimum of one year emergency
response/COOP/safety experience such as developing and implementing
Occupant Emergency Plans, continuity plans, or other preparedness
or emergency response activities Minimum high school diploma or a
General Education Development (GED) equivalency A minimum age of
twenty-one years Must be a US citizen Working knowledge of the
Incident Command System (ICS). Must have completed the following
courses: ICS 100b: Introduction to Incident Command System (ICS)
ICS 200b: Incident Command System (ICS) IS 546a: Continuity of
Operations Awareness Course IS-547a: Introduction to Continuity of
Operations Demonstrable proficiency and fluency in reading,
writing, and speaking the English language to include the ability
to construct and write clear, concise, accurate, and detailed
reports. Demonstrate courtesy and respect, and impartial
enforcement of directives. Possess honesty, integrity, good
judgment, courage, alertness, self-reliance. Ability and skills to
tactfully and positively interact with stakeholders while
maintaining poise and self- control during stressful events and
incidents. Ability to demonstrate poise, self-confidence, and sound
decision-making. Ability to learn and adapt to changing situations.
Ability to understand, and apply printed rules, directives,
detailed orders, instructions, procedures, and training materials.
Be and remain drug free for the duration of employment on the
contract. Have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to sit,
stand, walk, run, and lift items weighing not exceeding 50 lbs
Preferred experience Completion of ICS 300: Intermediate ICS for
Expanding Incidents Completion of E/L/G 548: Continuity of
Operations Program Managers T-t-T Course Experience working with
Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel,
Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft
Publisher Working Conditions: Able to sit and work at a computer
keyboard for extended periods of time Able to stoop, kneel, bend at
the waist and reach Able to sit, stand, walk, run Able to lift up
to 50 pounds
