The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Marketing Director within its Marketing & Communications (M&C) division to lead marketing strategies to support VEDP's marketing goals and objectives. The M&C division manages Virginia's business brand and builds awareness of the Commonwealth's advantages. This position will oversee the execution of VEDP's marketing, and advertising programs, website ecosystem management, and other major marketing initiatives.--Responsibilities:Oversee the development and implementation of an effective marketing strategy as well as branding and advertising plans that increase brand awareness and communicate Virginia's advantages for businessOversee a marketing program that supports and enhances VEDP's brand position and outreach marketing programs; specific marketing tactics may include digital marketing, advertising, social media, publications, and direct mailLead the strategy, concept, and execution of VEDP's talent attraction and retention marketing--Provide appropriate staff oversight and performance management; assist the VP in management of the division as requiredManage implementation and execution of annual advertising strategy (based on funding)--Implement lead tracking strategies to support VEDP's lead generation strategies, including providing analytics and visitor reports to Business Development Core Group to develop marketing-generated project leadsDirect successful web strategies that promote Virginia's business location advantages and increase top-of-mind awareness that Virginia is a prime business location--Analyze website usage to improve user experience and identify potential marketing opportunities--Oversee the special high-value/visibility marketing projects at the direction of the division Vice President--Manage relationship with VEDP's third-party marketing firmSkills:Strong communication skills (verbal and written)Strong organizational skills and attention to detailStrong strategic thinking and project management skillsAbility to maintain strict confidentiality on sensitive mattersAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environmentAbility to work well under pressure to meet deadlinesAbility to exhibit sound judgment in making decisionsDemonstrated ability to prioritize work and effectively manage multiple projectsUnderstanding of economic development principles and state and local government programsEducation/Experience:Considerable and successful experience in developing and implementing effective marketing, advertising, and branding programs (8+ years)Economic development marketing experience preferredBeing authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment.
