Job Description:

Position PurposeThe Senior Manager of Partnerships and Community Engagement will support the ASPPH Center for Public Health Workforce Development in identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with public health partners and engaging with diverse communities to build and sustain culturally-relevant programs. The preliminary focus of relationship building will be with Tribal Nations and Tribal Health Departments across the continental US. In this capacity, the Senior Manager will manage efforts to strategize, design, promote, and evaluate ASPPH's applied learning and training programs, which provide mentored training opportunities for students and recent graduates of ASPPH-member schools and programs of public health.Primary ResponsibilitiesPartnership Development and Management:

  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with community partners, including Tribal Health Departments, Tribal Nations, and subject matter experts.
  • Develop, implement, and manage partnership agreements.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and relationship-building with key partners.Community Engagement and Outreach:
    • Design and manage community engagement strategies to ensure active participation and input from community partners, including Tribal communities.
    • Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and events to engage partners and community members.
    • Serve as a liaison between ASPPH and partners to address partner ideas, concerns, and needs.Program Development:
      • Manage the development of program structure, policies, protocol, and budget in concert with community partners and grant requirements.
      • Ensure programs are culturally relevant, evidence-based, and aligned with both the needs of communities, ASPPH values, and grant requirements.Capacity Building and Technical Assistance:
        • Manage the delivery of technical assistance and capacity-building support to Tribal Health Departments.
        • Develop training materials, resources, and workshops to enhance partner capacity.Data Management and Reporting:
          • Conduct environmental scans regarding needs in the field, specifically regarding workforce development in Tribal Health Departments.
          • Collect and analyze data related to community engagement, partnership activities, and program outcomes.
          • Prepare reports, presentations, and communications to share progress and impact with funders and partners.Minimum Qualifications
            • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to plan and host collaborative meetings, facilitate collaborative decision-making, and foster a strong sense of purpose and belonging among all partners.
            • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with diverse partners and build consensus.
            • Program Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to develop and manage programs across internal departments and external partners.
            • Cultural Competence: Strong understanding of Tribal cultures, traditions, and health practices. Ability to engage with Tribal communities respectfully and effectively.
            • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain meaningful working relationships in which all partners feel valued, heard, and respected.
            • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using project management software, data analysis tools, and office software (e.g., MS Office Suite).

              • Education: Master's degree in Public Health or related field OR comparable experience.
              • Experience: Experience working with Tribal communities and experience working in governmental public health highly preferred.Additional InformationWork Locale: ASPPH is based in Washington, DC. ASPPH maintains a hybrid work environment and is especially interested in candidates from the DC Metropolitan area. ASPPH will consider candidates outside of the DC Metropolitan area for full-time remote work.Reports To: Director of Public Health Workforce DevelopmentManages/Supervises: N/AAuthority to Work in the US: The individual must be legally eligible to work in the US. ASPPH participates in E-Verify to confirm eligibility.Travel Requirements: Regular travel is required for meetings, site visits, and conferences.Work Schedule: Full-time position with standard office hours. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet program needs and deadlines.Compensation: ASPPH determines salary compensation level based on industry salary surveys and the individual's experience. ASPPH also takes into consideration the internal pay equity of our existing team members. The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000.
