Decarbonization Program ManagerRegular EmployeeWashington, DC, US6 days agoRequisition ID: 1459Salary Range:$75,700.00 To 80,350.00 AnnuallyULI's Decarbonization Program is focused on climate mitigation and makes the business case for green buildings by tying carbon reductions to increased asset value. The program includes three workstreams to advance decarbonization in the global real estate industry: the Greenprint Community of Practice, Decarbonization Thought Leadership, and Net Zero City Engagement. The Decarbonization Program is organized within ULI's Randall Lewis Center for Sustainability in Real Estate, which also covers Urban Resilience and Healthy Places.Core areas of focus for the Decarbonization Program center around real estate's journey to net zero, and engagement of stakeholders across the real estate value chain to achieve that goal. This includes development of research reports and resources on the business case for high performance green buildings, the convening of market leaders to advance sustainability in real estate, the analysis of portfolio-wide benchmark performance of ULI Greenprint members, and the promotion of results to the broader ULI membership and real estate market at large.The salary range for this position in Washington, D.C. is set at $75,700 to $80,350 annually. Actual salary will vary based on factors including experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Please note that salary ranges for this position may differ in other locations. The range listed is just one component of ULI's total compensation package, which includes a full and competitive benefits package.The position is full-time, exempt, and is ideally located in Washington, D.C on a hybrid schedule. We will also consider remote applications.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Decarbonization Content Development and Convening Facilitator:

  • Keen interest in various research topics including, but not limited to, the general business case for carbon reduction, electrification, renewables, the impact of utility programs on carbon reduction goals, the intersection between climate and healthy buildings, climate risk reporting, the sustainability benefits of adaptive reuse, and embodied carbon. etc.
  • Collaborate on in-person thought leadership like workshops, convenings, and conference sessions by shaping the event agenda, identifying expert panelists, facilitating day-of events, making local arrangements, preparing event summaries, supporting impact evaluations, etc.
  • Serve as a core research resource, working with project leads to research and write reports, articles, and other publications. Conduct interviews, synthesize key takeaways, write case studies, analyze data, locate images, etc. This also includes leading the publication and marketing process for the resource publications.
  • Support internal coordination with ULI staff, member leaders, and members, and lead internal team coordination efforts.
  • Limited administrative responsibilities, such as printing program materials, submitting invoices for payment, tracking budgets, scheduling meetings, and the like.EXPERIENCE:
    • Bachelor's degree in related discipline (sustainability, building science, environmental science, management, etc.) or experience in lieu of.
    • Ideally 4 years of related experience.
    • A strategic thinker, problem solver, and excellent communicator.
    • Comfortable engaging with ULI members and partners.
    • Interest or experience with sustainability, climate change, green buildings, urban planning, real estate, or related topics.
    • Able to maintain keen attention to details, timelines, and various moving project pieces.
    • Strong research and writing skills - ready to be a major contributor to ULI research reports, case studies, and toolkits
    • Strong event management skills - ability to run "back-of-house" for events and convenings like sending and tracking virtual invites, developing and sharing event agendas, coordinating on-site requirements, etc.
    • Moderate data analysis skills - capable of running pivot tables and more details excel analyses of benchmarking data
