Associate Director, Research Analysis and Publications.In the role
of Associate Director, Research Analysis and Publications, you will
be responsible for managing various research and policy
initiatives, including projects related to the ASCO State of Cancer
Care in America series, FDA collaborations, external research
collaborations, and ASCO's strategic plan.We are looking for a team

primary location in Alexandria, VA.Responsibilities
- Manage activities of the ASCO State of Cancer Care in America
series, including acting as staff lead on select manuscripts and
abstracts (including content development and overseeing volunteer
groups), supporting relevant data analyses, facilitating work with
other staff teams (e.g., Journals, Communications, and Policy &
Advocacy).
- Provide programmatic leadership on select FDA collaborations,
such as the FDA-ASCO public workshop series and research-related
projects. Aspects of the work typically include reaching consensus
on the scope of work and deliverable(s), overseeing any written
work product that results, developing workshop agendas, inviting
workshop participants, and coordinating roles and responsibilities
between the organizations.
- Manage select external research collaborations arising from the
ASCO Research Committee or other ASCO programs, including
conducting literature reviews, manuscript development, and
analyses.
- Contribute to strategic projects related to the implementation
of ASCO's strategic plan.Required Education and Experience
- Advanced degree (Masters degree or above) related to research
or policy, or 10+ years of relevant work experience
- Minimum 7+ years of related medical/healthcare research
publication experience
- Experience with scholarly research and writing, including
conducting literature reviews, analysis, and development of
manuscripts and meeting abstracts
- Experience with managing inter-disciplinary team
projectsPreferred Education and Experience
- Experience with social-science experiments, field experiments,
and relevant statistical and methodological training.Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of cancer policy and clinical trial
methodology
- Demonstrated ability to make strategic decisions about projects
and to effectively communicate these decisions to
inter-disciplinary teams
- Ability to work within and across teams/divisions to achieve
project goals, and to guide team planning and execution to achieve
desired results
- Proficient skills in conducting scholarly research and
writing
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly
communicate and convey information
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet
deadlines, prioritize, and multi-task
- Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and critical
thinking skills with high attention to detailADA/Physical
