Energy products and solutions include energy infrastructure assets
(such as energy storage and integrated charging systems) vehicle to
grid capabilities and software platforms needed to operate and
aggregate these assets on the grid.
GM Energy recently launched two product lines using the power of
Ultium Technology - Ultium Home and Ultium Commercial to provide
integrated energy solutions for residential and commercial
customers respectively. This team envisions a world with no grid
outages, fully renewable energy, and decentralized energy
resources. GM's resources, reach, and all-EV future can deliver
that future. This disruption is backed by the bold GM vision of
zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion .
About the Role:
Product management for a range of V2X-related software and energy
solutions associated with bidirectional charging, V2H, V2L, V2G and
other advanced V2X functions; the GM energy Software Product
Manager will work closely with the vehicle software, IT , and EVSE
development teams to ensure hardware and onboard systems roadmap
alignment, but be directly responsible for developing and
delivering commercial-grade V2X-solutions and the cloud functions
that support them. The goal of GM Enerygy within General Motors is
to provide substantial growth in adjacent revenues through services
and digital product experiences related to above.
Responsibilities :
Responsible for high bandwidth, high EQ interlocution between
engineering, development and marketing/sales.
Generate great energy product ideas; enable others to do even
better.
Develops feature roadmaps based on key market trends, competitive
landscape, and customer insights on how to build new value for our
customers.
Maintain knowledge of product/application landscape, trends, and
features; act as a center of excellence for V2X with other
stakeholders.
Manage internal and external market analysis efforts.
Support the development of system, component, and sub-component
specifications for the various V2X solutions including functional,
performance, safety, and compliance requirements .
Collaborate in a team environment and/or take charge of
opportunities to develop optimal solutions for customers and
development activities.
Responsible for collaborating on the strategic vision and global
product roadmap relative to GM's suite of customer-facing mobile
applications.
Document product strategy & new feature scope/requirements.
Work with regional teams to collect feedback/product improvement
suggestions, supervise market sentiment/industry trends, and review
reporting to identify areas of opportunity relative to overall
roadmap for inclusion in product portfolio discussions.
Collaborate with User Experience to develop all flows and
designs.
Ensure mobile applications adhere to GM Policies and Procedures by
working closely with cross-functional teams including global
security, legal, privacy, etc.
Help prioritize product backlogs by representing needs/timing to
ensure we're delivering the most valuable features to market in
required timeframes.
Work with cross-functional team members to ensure feature readiness
for PI planning events, and articulate the feature/capability
business value & OKRs (objectives & key results) for the team.
Participate in testing & validation of products; participate in
demos/reviews related to product features as vital, and build plan
to implement improvements.
Help coordinate efforts to launch products in-market, working with
marketing and go-to-market teams, and supporting/prepping marketing
content as needed.
Experience
Success owning product management responsibilities for products in
the renewable energy, EV, or V2X markets.
Background in developing and deploying software solutions enabling
interactions between EVs, the electrical grid, renewable energy
systems, and/or DERs .
Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills required to
effectively motivate, and facilitate others in group
situations.
Demonstrated high level of strategic agility and desire to work in
a complex and evolving environment and an innovation mindset.
Experience detailing product requirements or leading products in
the digital domain.
Experience collaborating across multiple teams and functional
areas.
Additional Job Description
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in digital project/product management or
proven experience.
Positive relationship building skills.
Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills.
Strong proficiency in digital media/platforms.
Self-starting personality with the ability to think strategically,
problem solve and develop creative solutions.
Action-oriented.
Occasional travel, including some weekends.
Ability to occasionally work irregular hours.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer
Engineering/Science, or Equivalent Experience
Prefer MBA
Compensation:
The expected base compensation for this role is: (100,530 - 160,587
USD Annual). Actual base compensation within the identified range
will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on
company performance, job level, and individual performance.
