professional association that supports more than 8,100
interventional radiology physicians, trainees, medical students,
scientists, and clinical professionals. SIR is also comprised of
SIR's 501(c)(3) Foundation, which focuses on research and
fundraising to advance the future of interventional radiology.
Together SIR and SIR Foundation have approximately 50 staff,
combined annual revenues of $10 million, and assets of nearly $17
million.
Position Summary:SIR is expanding its Quality and Performance
Improvement (QPI) division and currently looking for an
enthusiastic quality program manager with strong leadership and
project management experience. Under the guidance and supervision
of the Director of Clinical Guidelines and Standards, the QPI
manager will manage the measure development process, data analysis,
benchmarking, quality improvement programs, and standardized
reporting. This position will serve as a primary staff liaison to
the QPI Division Councilor and respective division committees to
ensure the successful implementation of quality goals and
initiatives.
Requirements: Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Serves as the project manager for quality and performance
improvement projects, including measure development, data analysis,
benchmarking, quality improvement programs, and standardized
reporting. Ensures the projects support SIR's organizational and
departmental goals.
- Develops, manages, and integrates a comprehensive quality and
performance improvement program to achieve quality, efficiency,
safety, satisfaction, and value results.
- Supports the quality measure development, testing, and
validation process. Proactively identifies issues in the
development and proposes effective resolutions for quality measures
and performance improvement programs.
- Monitors updates to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
(CMS) Quality Payment Program policies relating to measure
development and reports on updates that impact interventional
radiology practice.
- Works collaboratively with the QPI Division committees and
other SIR Divisions (including, but not limited to: Guidelines and
Statements, Economics, and Health Policy). Ensure that relevant
recommendations are appropriately incorporated into the QPI
Division activities and the National IR Registry (VIRTEX).
- Performs other related duties as required.Secondary Functions
and Responsibilities
- Write communication updates and content for SIR communication
vehicles on quality and performance improvement activities.
- Assist in the development of agendas, scheduling of conference
calls, providing necessary materials in advance of the call, and
taking concise meeting minutes with follow-up of action items for
the QPI Division committee meetings
- Attends relevant meetings of external organizations and reports
back accurately. Maintains a collaborative relationship with
external organizations and consultants related to SIR's quality
performance improvement and safety initiatives.
- Provide administrative support and coordination for other data
and informatics projects Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Leverage both evidence-based and industry best practices to
recommend efficient and effective strategies and solutions to
address areas of identified opportunity.
- Understanding and knowledge of the healthcare industry and
physician performance and quality improvement programs are
required. Background with data sets and databases, benchmarking,
and measure development preferred.
- Proficient with Windows-style applications, keyboard, and
various software programs specific to the role.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel,
Word, and PowerPoint).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability
to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels
of individuals.
- Analytical skills and ability to use a logical, thorough
process to formulate practical solutions to problems.
- Decision-making, delegation, and leadership skills and ability
to demonstrate good judgment.
- Positive interpersonal skills and ability to effectively and
professionally work with people from all backgrounds.Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Project Management Program (PMP) certification is preferred but
not required.Experience:
- Working knowledge of quality improvement, data analysis,
benchmarking, and performance measure development. 20% travel
required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in healthcare project
management, including previous experience in quality and
performance improvement activities, statistical analysis, and
reporting.
- Knowledge of and experience with quality measure development
and registry data for submission to quality payment programs.
- Knowledge of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS),
health policy, and reimbursement processes.
- Knowledge in clinical informatics or medical coding/billing is
a plus.
- Experience in the development of medical/clinical
policies.
- Experience in working in a healthcare setting, medical
societies, or associations.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: Use of phones and
computers for extended periods. Utilize equipment and communication
technologies for conference calls and teleconference
meetings/webinars. Requires mobility to move and travel away from
the remote setting. Ability to lift 25 pounds. Frequent interaction
with internal staff and physician members via phone, in person,
email, and other mediums. Special note regarding COVID-19: SIR
employees are currently working in a hybrid or remote fashion and
will have the ability to continue to work with a flexible
arrangement based on business needs.
