Overview
American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), located

organizational support. ACOG is currently seeking a Research
Manager. The Research Manager serves as the expert source for
development, management and oversight of evidence review and
analysis required for the development of ACOG's Clinical Practice
Guidelines (CPG) and Clinical Consensus (CC) documents. Responsible
for providing strong guidance for the author, committee, and staff
to implement the current and subsequent updated evidence-analysis
methodology. Ensure that guideline development follows the
evidence-based CPG and CC processes and that the available
scientific evidence is included and accurately represented in CPG
and CC text and recommendations. Collaborate effectively and build
productive internal and external relationships. Cover Letter

Responsibilities
- Adhere to the multi-faceted evidence evaluation methodology and
standards for CPG and CC development.
- Provide knowledgeable advice and expertise to CPG and CC
authors, committee members and CPG and CC research and committee
staff on the evidence analysis process.
- Contribute to the review and implementation of CPG and CC
methodologies, recommending any necessary adjustments and
alternatives as required.
- Serve as the primary resource for CPG and CC authors, committee
members and staff.
- Develop structured clinical review topics/questions addressing
identified management issues using the PICO format.
- Provide input for search protocols, oversee literature search
results, and ensure accurate inclusion/exclusion criteria
application.
- Assist authors and committees in evidence review protocols and
use of evaluation software.
- Create evidence profiles to provide to author and committee
members for development of manuscript and recommendation
statements.
- Review manuscripts before publication to ensure content and
data are valid, applicable and current.
- Provide quality assurance for the CPG and CC evidence analysis
and application aspects, including establishment mechanisms for
monitoring and improving performance.
- Work with staff and committee members to lead incorporation of
new systematic reviewing tools and techniques into the CPG and CC
evidence analysis methodology, ensuring consistency of processes,
templates and documentation across all CPG and CC documents.
- Interpret literature search results and respond to
stakeholders' input and questions. Identify and refine evidence
related to the topic to support effective participation in meeting
discussions relating to clinical and methodologic issues.
- Support ACOG staff research projects through literature
searches, focus groups and subject matter expert input.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure that training and support
is in place for CPG and CC authors, committee, and staff, including
areas of complex methodology.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in epidemiology,
public health or other health sciences preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience in an evidence-based
clinical guideline standards and methodologies, application of
relevant software, and medical information retrieval, analysis,
interpretation.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and
knowledgeable about current issues related to women's health.
- Ability to work independently, adhere to timetables and
prioritize, organize, and coordinate multiple tasks
simultaneously.
- Ability to interact with a variety of levels of professional
personnel.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or other related
software. Understanding of medical databases, such as Medline,
evaluation software such as Covidence, and reference organizing
software such as RefWorks and EndNote.
- Strong understanding of the role of evidence analysis and
application in medical guideline development.
- In depth knowledge of research methodology, tenets of
evidence-based medicine, statistics, and medical terminology.
