The University of Virginia Darden School of Business, one of the
world's leading business schools, seeks an Assistant/Associate
Director of Admissions, Professional Degree Programs to join its
professional degree program team in Rosslyn, VA. With strong
momentum in the Full-Time MBA, Part-Time MBA and Executive MBA
programs, the Assistant/Associate Director joins Darden at an
exciting time. Darden is ranked the #1 MBA education experience in

magazine.This position will be of part of Dardens Admissions
committee, responsible for activities necessary to market to,
identify, evaluate, and select a diverse class of high-quality
applicants and students in Darden's Professional degree
programs.The position is located in-person in Rosslyn, VA.To be
considered for the Assistant Director role, responsibilities
include: :
- Read and evaluate applications for admission into the Darden
School of Business.
- Represent Darden at various alumni and prospective student
events, MBA forums/fairs, and other events, including yield events
both domestically and internationally.
- Interview prospective students on Grounds and by Zoom.
- Serve as liaison to alumni base and coordinate their
involvement with multiple recruitment and yield efforts.In addition
to the above, Associate Director level responsibilities include:
- Utilize more depth of knowledge and experience to lead
initiatives and projects that are more complex in nature.
- Apply experience to solve problems without review, and latitude
to devise the approach and method to performing assignments.
- Perform long-term or non-routine assignments with minimal
supervisory intervention, seeking assistance when significant
deviations are proposed, or when unprecedented problems arise.
- Train, serve as a resource, and provide guidance to more junior
staff on non-routine problems, processes, and policies.
- Assist senior staff in setting goals, allocating resources and
tracking and evaluating results.Education and Professional
Experience:Assistant Director:
- Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience in
student services functions or a total of eight years of experience
in lieu of degree.Associate Director:
- Bachelor's degree and at least seven years of experience in
admissions or related field or a total of twelve years of
experience in lieu of degree. Experience will include leading
complex projects and teams with minimal supervision and the ability
to mentor and motivate junior team members.
- Minimum of 2 years admissions experience at a high-quality
higher education institution, or an equivalent with relevant
recruiting, student services or HR/talent experience in a top
corporation.
- Demonstrated ability to attract, interview, and yield highly
qualified MBA candidates from diverse backgrounds.
- Awareness of the needs and concerns of a selective MBA
program.
- Ability to take initiative and execute high quality actions
using judgment and discretion.
- Global awareness and understanding.
- Poise, tact, and emotional intelligence to deal with people and
sensitive issues.
- High energy and an ability to make compelling
presentations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff,
