Job Description:

The Wankawala Organization is a hotel management company that owns and operates hotels throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. Our business is growing and we are looking for individuals who are committed to success and the hospitality industry. We are currently looking for an *Operations Manager* at the *Holiday Inn Express in Camp Springs, MD*.

The ideal candidate will have prior hotel front desk and/or housekeeping experience, be hands on, have the desire to succeed and build a culture that will take the hotel to the next level. This is a permanent full-time position. The job description for this follows:

*JOB SUMMARY: *

Oversee all property operations and department supervisors. Directly responsible for the performance of the front desk and housekeeping departments. Assist the General Manager in all aspects of running the hotel.

*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *

1. Ensure the best possible lodging experience for each guest.

2. Responsible for the accounts receivables within the hotel. This includes but is not limited to the accurate billing of all accounts and collecting of all payments.

3. Inspect rooms daily to ensure that the housekeeping department is meeting the quality levels set forth for the hotel.

4. Be involved in the interviewing, hiring, training, reprimanding and firing of line level staff.

5. Evaluates the job performance for each line level employee.

6. Supervise the workloads of employees during their shift.

7. Maintain control of all master keys.

8. Prepare schedules for all departments to ensure proper staffing levels and ensure labor dollars are proportionate to business demand.

9. Monitor payroll and make certain labor hours/dollars are in proper ration with the business demand level of the hotel.

10. Monitors the status of rooms and informs the general manager if any room is OOO for any unknown reason or will be OOO for an extended period of time. Investigates all discrepant rooms and resolves the issues.

11. Reviews and completes the credit limit reports.

12. Reconciles cash deposits each day and enforces proper handling of all cash transactions.

13. Reconciles credit card processing each day and enforces proper handling of all credit card transactions.

14. Ensures that all departments are running efficiently and effectively.

15. Maintains proper communication between all departments within the hotel.

16. Monitors inventory daily and reservation generation. Alerts the general manager to any hot booking dates or if any rate adjustments need to be completed.

17. Completes the 30/60/90 day forecast weekly.

18. Oversee the logging and delivery of all messages, packages and mail in a timely and professional manner.

19. Oversee the lost and found department. Ensure proper procedures are being followed and items are being returned properly.

20. Ensures all guest relation issues are responded to within the allocated time.

21. Ensures all OTA comments are responded to in a timely fashion.

22. Ensure QUORE is utilized to its fullest potential.

23. Updates group information. Maintains, monitors and prepares group requirements prior to arrival. Relays information to the appropriate personnel.

24. Maintains proper par level of supplies in housekeeping, front office and breakfast.

25. Ensure the linen inventory is completed each month within the proper time and with accuracy.

26. Oversee the housekeeping department and ensure all storage areas and linen closets are clean and in a satisfactory condition and stocked appropriately.

27. Practice safe working conditions under the Occupational Safety and Health administrations guidelines to include Bloodborne Pathogens. Maintains proper MSDS logs.

28. Ensures all ServeSafe practices are implemented.

29. Oversees and makes all decisions necessary for the smooth operation of the hotel in the absence of the general manager.

30. Uphold the hotel's commitment to hospitality.

31. Any other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37,500.00 - $42,500.00 per year
